I purchased my 2018 PW earlier this year, besides a stereo upgrade, I haven’t done much to it. I have just purchased the BDS 4” lift. Has anyone heard anything bad about this system….? All I have been reading is good stuff so far but haven’t seen many owners with this system on forums to ask them questions…….

Thanks

How good or bad the BDS lift is depends on how you use your truck. If your truck is for driving around and looking good, it’s probably a fine lift kit.

For my own purposes (daily driver and weekend trail rig), I don’t see any advantages to the BDS 4” kit. Bear in mind, “looks”, “stance”, etc are not priorities for me.

You don’t need lift to fit bigger tires. You can fit up to 37s on a factory PW with proper wheel selection.
It raises the truck’s center of gravity, bad for off camber scenarios off-roading.
I rarely run into a scenario where breakover angle gets me stuck. Power Wagons get hung up on that big 11.5” AAM diff housing, and a lift won’t fix that.
The springs are dual rate. Linear rate (like the PW comes with) are preferred for off-roading.

Thank you for your input Low_Sky….. I totally agree with you.

I don’t think I’ll be doing any major rock crawling like this rig was intended for, so the center of gravity being a bit higher isn’t an issue for me. My Brothers have diesels, so hauling the toys, isn’t an issue either. This is not my everyday driver and I’m not trying to get too crazy with accessories. I just wanted a taller than stock PW with 35’s, yes, 35’s fit now but I want a bit more height. I’m 6’-6” tall guy. I don’t think I’ll do the 37’s right now. I’m sticking to the stock 17” wheels on 35x12.5 E KM3’s. Then adding the AEV front bumper. I’ll be very content with that. If we ever get more options to get more ponies out if the 6.4 Hemi, then I’ll add the 37’s. I’ll definitely post pics, Kit get here in 10 days.

Finally picked up my truck from the shop.................
2018 Power Wagon
- BDS 4" lift kit
- Fox Shocks
- Black Rhino El Cajon 18x9 -12 wheels
-BFGoodrich KM3 35x12.5x18

The ride alone is a huge improvement....... It's been less than 24 hours since I've had it. Will report on it after a few miles.

Look good. When you bought your kit did you also get the steering stabilizers?

My daily commute to work is 5 miles. But It is not my daily commuter. Besides wanting this power wagon to look sharp and one of a kind..... I do head out to the desert and beach sand to take the toys..... on weekends.

Still to come are rock sliders and front bumper light bar with lights.

That thing is in serious need of some 38’s.
