Greetings everyone - 1st post

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 quad cab lariat, 5.7 with 76" inch bed.

I made the mistake of buy a very nice A.R.E. cap that is color matched to truck. I also bought the BedRug. It makes a real nice package, but I can't use the truck like a truck.

I have posted it for sale (half price) and plan to buy a hard folding tonneau cover. Does anyone know if this bed would fit on any other models? I had one person very interested with a 4th generation Ram, he was told by the dealer that my cap would not fit on his truck.

I don't know if that is factual or if the dealer just wants to sell another new one.

Hahaha...Ford much? I'm not familiar with the lariat model LOL. Gonna assume you meant Laramie.

I haven't measured them or tried this myself, but from what I've read, your topper won't fit on a 4th gen bed. Which would make sense since bed cover manufacturer's list different part numbers for 4th gen 5th gen bed covers. Even if the dimensions fit, be aware that the 5th gen beds are taller than the 4th gen beds, so the cover would sit lower in relation to the cab on the potential buyer's truck.

That's good information because I did not know that. However, with the bed walls being taller on the newer truck, it's makes sense that it would not fit on the 4th gen trucks. I'll be mindful of that when looking at used caps.

Thanks for the replies guys, I guess I didn't think it would make that much of a difference but I can understand that with the taller walls. Oh well sucks for me.
I'd make anyone a great deal on the cap in Granite Crystal Metallic! I'll throw in the bed rug.

How do you like your BakFlip FiberMax tonneau cover?

I'm seriously considering a very similar cover, the Lomax. I know a guy who can get me one a dealer cost so I can't pass that up.
