Hello everyone, I am looking for ideas to accomplish pulling pallets into the bed of my 2021 1500 with 6'4" box (DT/New Body) with materials on them. I've seen a lot around the internet but nothing exactly like I'm looking for or without the information I need myself to get it done.

Ideally, I'd like to have a winch mounted to the frame from the interior of the bed nearest the cab so I don't lose any bed space. I've thought about a 5th wheel set up with a winch, but then the pallet won't come into the bed fully, so that won't work.

I've also heard of a few attaching the winch to their under bumper hitch and having pulleys set up to pull things into the bed, which would also work if it was a setup I could remove relatively easily.

I'm also open to any ideas anyone may have, something under bed with pulleys mounted so the cable enters the bed somehow, anything at all to get something started for this project.

Thank you all for your help, I appreciate it!

That'd be nice, not sure it'll work with the ladder rack and utility boxes though or fit the budget haha
I dont think you ever mentioned anything about ladder racks and utility boxes

Would likely be a maximum of maybe 1,300 LBS, nothing too crazy. Would the strut be mounted through to the frame with the winch on it? Not sure how I would mount it to the frame except for possibly some U-bolts, haven't had much luck with any having done it with some documentation so I could get myself through it.

You're correct, I did mention I was looking for a winch however rather than a large platform that would replace the bed.

It was simply a different suggestion to your apparent dilemma. Good luck with your winch

why not a winch mounted on a utility trailer?
No trailer yet, it may get to that point but I'd like to try to work with what I have as I'd prefer not to have multiple trailers going around, just looking to get the idea solidified so I can do this to a few trucks at the moment.

You see frame mounted headache racks with winches on them all the time here in the oil patch. Winches are mounted near the top so you can gin pole with it or run it through a ****** block on the bottom to pull stuff into the bed.
