I need to install two rain water drain tubes on each end of the bottom of this retractable tonneau cover canister, and run them out through the bulkhead of the 8 foot bed of my 2019 3500. I see here at the very bottom next to the rubber bed matt an oval shaped--what is it, a removable plug? Its maybe 2 x 1-1/2 inches. There's also another one on the passengers side. The drain tube is just shy of 3/4 inches wide. My gut tells me that--if that oval is a removable plug--running the drain tubes through that low would create issues when I run stuff that far back. Instinct is telling me to instead drill a hole much higher--maybe 2 or 3 inches below the canister. What do some of you think?

Thank you!

My 2500 had ports on the side closer to the top that let me run the drain tubes for my MX4. Look on the side before drilling your new rust hole...

choose hole 1 or 2
If you load the bed with something that could cut or pinch the hose, use hole #1
otherwise, just use hole #2
both holes drain out at the same place

Mine is a 2019 3500 so I don't know if I have 1 or 2. 1 would be too high

I used hole #1 in my 2019 2500...

The bottom of the canister, where water drains, is lower than that # 1. I will look to see if I have that #2 port. If not, I'm going to have to drill.

I did find the #2 port and the drain tube is now installed there. Thanks, all!
