I fought a highway balance issue for a couple months. Always at highway speed AND it would stop then start again. The tire shop balanced multiple times and even replaced the four tires with a different brand.
Long story short, I found the RR Bilstein shock was blown! No resistance at all. Apparently, when the tire rolled over a dip or imperfection in the road, the tire would bounce like a ball... THAT was the vibration.
I was too embarrassed to tell the tire shop.

Good tire shop would have been checking for other causes after the first rebalance, and particularly afeter changing the tires for new ones. You have no reason to be embarrassed, you are paying them to know this stuff.

Add that to the things you would never imagine list, I hope my rear shocks last more than 3,000 miles!

I've seen things get wrapped around a driveshaft...like an old shirt once...cause similar problems.

Like all issues with vehicles, start at the simplest and cheapest and work your way through the diagnostic process. It may not be wheels and tires at all, but it is a common cause and easy enough to rule out.

A good shop is also pretty critical. Anyone that got grease in my vehicle would get a severe nut kicking and I certainly wouldn't be using them again. Best of luck.
They would also be paying for a interior cleaning , any shop that can’t
Take care about that don’t give a damn about their work

I got my alignment money refunded, that should have been a given, $33 off each tire, and they were willing to pay for a full detail inside and out of the truck. They made it right again. Should have stayed with my tried and true places but a ‘friend’ working there got me the best price on tires. In the end I would have rather over paid and had them done right. My regular alignment place fixed it easy. Just avoid spooling up performance in the buffalo NY area! They spool up their grease guns instead.
