Just looking to do my spark plug change soon and want to upgrade from the copper crap so I can change out at 100k interval not 30k crap. Using the AutoZone just to get an idea of what or where I am looking. Any tips or suggestions?

Says 100k service interval.

Bosch Iridium Spark Plug

Doing a little googling and can we run these?

AFAIK you need to upgrade the coils when changing from copper plugs to Iridium.

Agree, iridium plugs do not play well with the coils used in trucks that came with copper plugs. Most folk just replace plugs with OE.

You could get 2014 & up OEM coils or use some aftermarket high performance ones.
There’s a set in the for sale section. ;)

I guess your 2013 build is before the swap from copper. I'll trade you my plugs and coils and a bunch of other goodies for your line x, just hand it over in black.

I am in same spot, 44k on my 13 with original plugs. I have read so much confusing info on plugs and read every review I have been able to find. Many say they did iridium in 13s and below and all is great, a few say they have issues, some say coil packs are same on 13s and 14s, some say no.

The only consistent thing I read is that you should stay away from aftermarket plugs and use oem (ngk) in the RAM.
Throwing codes, rough idle, vibrations while accelerating, ...
So if the OP decides to upgrade the coils, my recommendation would be, go with the oem plugs of the late ‘13 und up models.

Changing spark plugs more frequently gives you also the possibility to check them and using a bore scope to check the inside of your cylinder.

run the stock plugs. THe heat range is DESIGNED BY ENGINEERS to run with the Hemi. Worst thing you can do is upgrade with a stock tune etc.

I always wondered why the replacement coil packs for 2011 and 2017 have the same part number in the parts book (68238603AA) where the ~2014+ had Iridium plugs and the older trucks had copper. I'n guessing the OEM coils on the early models were discontinued and superseded by the new coils. The new replacement pack (designed for Iridium) can be used on earlier trucks? I've heard that the reason FCA approved the OEM NKG Iridiums for use in all Hemis was that they were designed to provide near the same characteristics as the OEM NKG copper plugs. But with production variances it seems that didn't work out as well as expected.... so YMMV

Other brands of Iridum plugs don't match up very well with copper characteristics so they can lead to more problems.

Never thought of that good point. I guess I am tripping for no reason I have owned the Truck since 2017 Feb 05 and went from 37k to 49k miles in a year. So 12k a year so every 2.5 years isnt too bad I guess.

As always thank you for the responses.

Did some deep digging. These are the options you can go with:

1. Bosch 9673 Double Iridium OE Replacement Spark Plug

https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-9673-Double-Iridium-Longer/dp/B005GN26VC

https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Spark-Pl...336275&hash=item48e65fd8a5:g:~x0AAOSwejdbUpaU

Positives
  • Highly durable double iridium electrodes
  • Protected from corrosion
  • Perfectly suitable for Dodge Ram 1500
  • Comes with super fine wire for superior ignitability
  • Does not require gapping
  • It comes with a 7-year warranty
Negatives
  • There are many Bosch counterfeit spark plugs made in China, not in Germany
  • The porcelain on these plugs comes off rather quickly

Verdict=Easily installed these spark plugs instead of the original ones. It fitted just as well as the OE parts. Given the 7-year warranty, it is a great product.

2. NGK (4912) ILKAR7B11 (4912) Laser Iridium Spark Plug

https://www.amazon.com/NGK-ILKAR7B11-Laser-Iridium-Spark/dp/B005NBD8V4

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NGK-4912-ILKAR7B11-4912-Laser-Iridium-Spark-Plug-Pack-of-1-/183488122929

Positive
  • Manufactured in Japan with impeccable accuracy
  • Iridium tip guarantees high fuel efficiency even on older vehicles
  • Covered with unique trivalent metal plating for extra protection
  • Protected with a 12-month warranty from the manufacturer
  • Comes at an affordable price
  • Very easy to install

Negatives
  • Sometimes they come cracked upon arrival due to poor packaging
  • Covered with very delicate ceramic that is easy to break
Verdict=The whole replacement process took less than 10 minutes. The products showed great performance and durability. We only wish the packaging was better.

3. Denso (4703) IKH16TT Iridium TT Spark Plug

https://www.amazon.com/Denso-IKH16TT-Iridium-Spark-Plug/dp/B00TPU8Z3U

https://www.ebay.com/p/2237881979

Positive
  • Built-in monolithic resistor to minimize electromagnetic noise interference
  • Its highly durable iridium tip offers a long service life
  • The high melting point of the electrode makes the product very sturdy
  • It significantly improves ignitability of the vehicle
  • Unique double-needle construction (Twin Tip technology)
  • Covered with a 12-month warranty from the manufacturer

Negatives
  • It is pretty expensive
  • Given the high price, I wish the warranty period was longer

Verdict= pleasantly surprised by the quality of these Denso spark plugs. They are sturdier than their original counterparts. Great product!

4. Autolite XP985 Iridium XP Spark Plug

https://www.amazon.com/Autolite-XP985-Iridium-Spark-Plug/dp/B000ET5TLM

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SIX-6-Auto...713208&hash=item289578e84a:g:IVUAAOSwd4tTtYBN

Positive
  • Comes with a V-trimmed ground electrode for enhanced ignitability
  • Covered with a limited lifetime warranty
  • Utilizes the unique platinum side wire technology from Autolite
  • The ground wire is protected with platinum for increased efficiency
  • Designed to fit Dodge Ram 1500 perfectly
  • Highly durable Iridium-enhanced center electrode
Negatives
  • One of the spark plugs we bought was cracked upon arrival
  • Sometimes it causes idling and misfire

Verdict=It is a decent option with a good price/quality ratio. However, one of the spark plugs was cracked upon arrival. Autolite’s QA department leaves much to be desired.
