I'm doing the big 3 upgrade and need some input for where to ground the engine. Some say to use the alternator mounting bolt (#1), or I was even thinking bolt #2?

Where are people bolting their engine ground to? Thanks for the help!

Both #1 &#2 are excellent locations. Which ever is easier to get to. Any solid point on the engine to the frame works best. Being me I have to ask where was it originally bolted to from the factory?
Battery to engine then engine to frame.
Going to the alternator bolt is a great place...

I used bolt 1. Easy to get to after popping off the plastic engine cover.

I like the alternator, reason, every time i jumped someone off i use the recommended method of grounding to the dead vehicle, not the ground on the battery, the alternator bolt never let me down.

I may be a noob but what is the reason for the "big 3" upgrade? Is this a car audio thing? Dimming lights etc.?

To me, its more of a general improvement overall. its helps with all electrical operations of the truck. Better grounds means better flow of electricity.
