Has anyone or know of anyone who has lifted their truck and put on bigger tires (37" or 38") and not changed out the gears as soon as they put on the bigger tires? If so how much performance was lost, and time frame that would be good to invest in the new gears?

can't really say about 37-38s...But I went from 245/70s to 285/70s and actually gained mileage on mine (yes, speed was adjusted during the tire replacement) Haven't really noticed that much of a performance decrease.

what gears do you have OP? If you have 3.92s and go with a light 37 or 38 you will be fine. Its not soo much the diameter of a tire as it is the weight

It depends on the gear ratio you have. What gears are you currently running?

Yea you'll def need some 4.56s those tires are more than 3x heavier than stock tires. Close to 100lbs each tire.

Yeah, you should be fine. You will notice a difference, but with 3.92s it shouldn't be anything that makes the truck absolutely horrible to drive. Your passing power on the highway will be worse and your off the line acceleration will be a little slower, but hey, your gonna look good doing it! Imo, if you have relatively lower miles, and don't plan on keeping the truck for a very long time, I'd keep the 3.92s. If your gonna run the truck till the wheels fall off, go ahead and do the gears, it will save you money down the road.

Okay sweet, I'm buying a 6" RCX suspension lift and 3" PA body lift with 5100 Bilsteins, so I'm not looking for the really fast speed obv lol. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't have to many problems with the gears for awhile. I'll eventually change 'em out and do some more engine work, right now just have K&N 77 CAI, Bully Dog GT programmer, and flowmaster 40 series exhaust.

Sounds like a good plan you've got. And yes, what sausec17 said about 4.56s is a valid point, but the 3.92s will treat you good, and with you swapping in the future, you'll be fine.

I do wanna see some pics of the truck tho, especially after the wheels and tires!

Won't be for awhile though. Which is disappointing :/ . Probably late July/Early August, I'm in Afghanistan on a deployment right now, just getting everything set up for as soon as I get back to the house.

Have looked at what all is necessary to swap gears on a 2013?

It's not just a simple gear swap like on the previous years.

It doesn't need to be rushed, but at the same time, don't romp on the truck hard because it's gonna be harder on the drive line than it was with stock wheels/tires. And I believe some changes to the diff housing will be needed for the larger gears.

And thank you for your services sir, much appreciated.

I can't find anything on cost. Does anyone know how much it would cost to go from 3.21s to 3.92 on a 2014 4x4?

You have to get a front end from an earlier truck since just the gears can't be swapped up front.
If I remember correctly it's a $2k+ Total job.
