Biggest tire on 05 ram 1500

Just wondering whats the biggest tire i can fit. Cureently at stock height, and looking at some rims and tires (35x12.5 r17)

Do i need just a 2 inch level, or can i get away with just spacers?

FWIW, my '04 has 35x12.50R20s and an unknown lift and still had rubbing issues. I had to remove the plastic air dam from under the bumper and still have to trim the loose corners of the inner wheelwells to keep the tires clear. The wheels have a good bit of offset too, so I'm not sure spacers would do the job.
