Hello all, i’ve been pretty bored today and i’ve been looking at really old video of 2013 model year (when they first came out) trucks. Mines a 2013, SLT, fully loaded aside from fog lights and a sunroof. (hate the projector headlights, redoing the taillights soon). My question is, Why are some of the BigHorn models not as well as equipped as some of the SLT models? If i’m correct the bighorn is “higher up” than the SLT? Only difference i really like is the grill.

Why do you "hate" the projector headlights? With a HID or LED kit they're miles better than any of the reflector offerings.

I don’t like the look of them that much. They look fine, yes, but any trucks i see with them kinda look, goofy, to say the least? I feel as the reflectors give the trucks a more mean look to them personally. Yes, i love the light output from the projectors which is why recently i’ve considered doing the upgrade to them (stuck on white to match the chrome or black for a sporty appearance) if you catch my drift.

A BigHorn/LoneStar/Outdoorsman are packages added to the SLT trim level. Trucks can have individual options added that may make it more equiped than another or in the case of my truck have the BigHorn package added on to the Outdoorsman. The BigHorn/LoneStar is mostly adds chrome trim to the truck.

My truck is an all black bighorn with no chrome at all. Except the lug nuts. Its also adds the interior, 4x4, 20 inch rims and probably other things too.

Dual exhaust, the SLT usually has one side rear exit exhaust. I think. LOL

I have owned an Outdoorsman and now a Big Horn.

My Big Horn has a factory roof, factory leather. Basically, it’s outfitted like a Laramie w/o some of the bells and whistles.

Also, I don’t think SLT is 4x4.

I have a 2019 SLT and it's loaded. dual exhaust, nav system, trailer break, heated seats and wheel, 20" rims. There weren't many other options out there to get unless i went Laramie. With everything it has i couldn't pass it up. I still wanted it to be a truck and not have all the leather and expensive bells and whistles.. I also want to lift and having a $80K(Canadian money) Mercedes and lift it i think is crazy

Nope, just the SLT badge on the tailgate.
Did you buy it new?

it looks like an odd mixture of different trims. Sport hood, big horn dual exhaust, big horn grill, sport wheels. Etc.

Unless you did some of those mods or maybe a previous owner?

I just think these trucks are basically frankentrucks lol. There is so many different Trims and packages that it comes down to simple things. There is a dealer in the Toronto area that has very reasonable prices on their trucks and even higher end models have good prices. However, when you look at the pictures and options it’s easy to see why the prices are fair.

They seem to flood their lots with what appears to be carefully crafted trucks that have little things here and there that are missing and keeps their prices low. They sell a ton of trucks and I think that’s how they do it.

The classics I find are even worse. They have options from across ST, SLT, big horn etc all mixed. The warlock IMO is a perfect example. It’s literally just a mix of all the ram models melted into one truck and it being sold as a warlock.

Rebel grill, projectors, painted flares etc. Frankentruck lol

60% of the time it works every time!

My friend has a SLT similarly configured to yours but it has the 3.6 instead of the 5.7. Canyon brown interior, console, nav, fog lights, projector headlights and LED tails, park assist, 7 inch cluster, etc. Jealous of the canyon brown interior because in my opinion it’s better than the diesel gray interior. I’d switch them out in my truck if i didn’t have to disassemble the entire dash for it.

I added the sport hood when I purchased it. Everything else came stock from the dealership. I live in Winnipeg, I literally scoured every dealership here and figured I'd have to settle on a Express because another dealership had the Outdoorsman but were being ***** on the priced. Came across this one and said I put a sport hood on that baby and I'm gunna be in love....LOL. I do the look back every time I park it. I just wanna lift it and my GF is gunna have some competition...LOL.

This.

When shopping for any trim, the package choices drive you crazy because at some point you can just get the next higher trim. But then you pay for stuff you don't want, so get the lower trim and then add packages. But then the price is as much as the next higher trim.
Lather. Rinse.Repeat.

ROFL!

I put Rubicon wheels (from craigslist)(just because we liked the "look" of Rubi wheels over the stock five-spoke) on my wife's Wrangler JK Sport, and it still has the "Sport" sticker on it yet people often ask us how we got a stipped-down rubi and how much did we save from the stock Rubi price?

ROFL
