So I'm trying to put all the specs together for my '14 Ram build and after reading for hours and hours and hours I cannot find a definitive answer to my question. Here is what I know as of now:

I want a lift that is the max possible but still fits in a standard garage. Thanks to Nova5757 I know his 4" RCX + .7" Bilstein + 1.25 RCX BL on 35x12.50x20 Toyo MTs fits in the standard 84" garage. By my understanding of the math that is 5.95"s of lift in the front and his sat level front to back.

Therefore, my proposed setup of 2.8" Bilstein + 3" PA Body lift nets ~5.8"s of lift and will still fit in the garage.

Now the fun part, width and offset. I've always preferred the wide stance of 20x12s and want to continue that theme on this truck. I feel like I've read over 100 post of this will and won't work etc. so I'm looking for some real world info. Wheels will be Moto Metal 962 20x12 -44.

I originally wanted to go the route of 2.8 Bilstein + 1.25" BL on 20x12 and 33s like Jameson but want a little more sidewall for the strech on the 12" wide wheel. I know his setup didn't rub, so I'm hoping my proposed setup won't either.

Thoughts? Comments? Real world experience?

Also I'm no newb to lifts / mods. Back in the day I did put together one of the biggest lifted 2wd rams on Dodgetalk...then moved on to the big boy cummins shortly after....now I'm trying to merge those dreams into one with the '14 Ram EcoDiesel.

Can't answer your question but that 3500 is sick and your photoshop skills look pretty good too.

You build trucks like that, I want to know when you post your build thread. Should be interesting. Sorry, can't answer your question though.

I seen a kid on Instagram running 35's on a 20x14 wheels with 8" of lift and he rubbed. So I am thinking 5.8" of lift is gonna rub. Once you get the wheels out there that far your gonna need a lot of lift to get the tires to not hit the fenders.

I have the same dilemma as yourself. I have a 2011 QC 1500 4wd that I want to lift 6" on 20x12 with 35's. I have been doing all the research I can and the best I have came up with is I am gonna rub. So I am gonna also run bilsteins up front at 2.1" so in turn giving me 8" of lift so that I can clear my fenders.

I know that puts you over your garage height opening but that is the best I can come up with. Hopefully someone that knows more about this than me and you will answer so we can both know.

Nice trucks by the way.

The only person on any of the forums I could find running 6" with 20x12 on 35s was Elroy but he never commented on rubbing and he doesn't appear to be to active on the forums

I think it'll rub bro. My 33s actually rub a tad in reverse on the fender liners.

Holy schit that is a bad a$$ 3500! I also think you'd rub a bit, I did when running 20x10 and 35x12.50 but it was only on the plastic liner and at 3/4 turn.

Yea if that 3500 was blacked out it would literally be one of my dream trucks.

Its just the -44 and 12 wide that's killing it. These trucks have massive fender wells when you get the offset just right. But problems I found when I pushed my tires out -24 on 37x14 was the front bumper and there is some metal in the rear of the fender well that hit it HARD. I took a grinder and removed as much as possible. Now with 11.1" lift and those same tires I still scrub the front plastic valence on the bumper. Could be easily fixed but I'm lazy.

I wonder if a 295/60R20 (34.4 x 12.13) would help vs most 35x12.50 being 35"+ x 13"+...I really don't want to give up on the 20x12s but it's not looking good. This pic keeps me fighting for the 20x12s! Deeeeeeep lip

EDIT:
In my search for pics of these wheels in 20x12 I ran across this 2500, not gonna lie I'm kind of digging the stance! The 2500 lift is about the equiavalent of the lift I'm proposing but still on 33s....Hmmm no rubbing for sure....

^^ That wheel is not at lock and looks like if it were it could be into that bumper or the wheel well behind it. I say go big and mod the garage, lol. :)

So this cabin fever has set in for being in the house snowed/iced in for 3 days. I decided to venture out to my local dealer (less than 2 miles away) and kill some time. They had 3 4th gens lifted 6" each using FabTech lifts. 1 on 35x12.50x20 Trail Grapplers on some what appeared to be 20x9 Monsters. The other 2 both had "Ultra" wheels I believe that look even narrower, or had a much more positive offset because they sat in more in comparison to the Monsters, but these 2 had 37" Mickey Thompsons! On the ones on 37s I could see where they trimmed out the lower bumper valence but nothing on the door side in the fender wells, surely it doesn't rub or they wouldn't sell a brand new truck that way???? Regardless after seeing the 6" Lift on 35s in person I definitely don't think 20x12 would fit. Back to the drawing board!!!

Now after reading the "Dealerships Installing Body Lifts" thread I may try to negotiate that into the truck deal and save myself some manual labor. The kit is supposedly 2" leveling kit + 3" PA body lift and still retains all factory warranties. Not a bad gig. If this was the case, and I'd have 5"s of lift, I think I would go with some tall 33x12.50s and run the 20x12s with no rubbing.

Silver is on 35s and Black on 37s

Trimmed Bumper Valence (Nothing like the dealer cutting up your new truck for you)

I love the stance too. I dig the low profile look. I'd like to replicate your 3500 build on my 1500 only my truck is red, sadly. But the way it sits is perfect. I just have to scale it to my smaller truck.

The above pic, I like the silver one better.

Yeah I'm weirdly growing fond of this "low and wide" stance thing going on, and it plays perfectly into me wanting to keep the truck in the garage as well....yeah the 3500 was a beast and I damne near cried when I let it go. Unfortunately when I got my new job it was WAY to big for the parking situation so I had to let her go...in that pic its towering over 38x15.50s on 20x12s.

I think I would have parked 2 miles away and walked to work before I parted with that beast, lol. Can't wait to see what you do to the new one. :)

funny you say that...I no kidding parked almost 1 mile from where my office was for the first 1.5 months when I first started...with Texas weather 100+ most of the year and random ice storms (happening now) it just was not at all practical.

Just wondering, what wheel/tire combo did the 3500 have?
