I removed and painted all of my tan trim, and got the suede black headliner treatment. I removed the headliner the hard way, I should have removed the back seats and console but now I know. I had a local shop do the suede wrap because I didn’t want to bother with the glue and corners. So it was a big task, maybe harder because I decided to add 900 fiber optic lights to make a “Starlight Headliner “ mod. I’m sure a lot of you guys in here wouldn’t fancy this mod but my girl loves it. So do I. The black interior is soooo much more luxurious and really changes the feel of the truck. The suede liner is so dark it looks like deep space at night. I also wrapped the sliding seatbelt cover in suede and that just topped it off. Feels like I’m driving a Rolls Royce at night. The SEM paint was nice, I used the adhesion promoter and it worked fine. I figure I’ll just buy a new blck part at a time as they scratch chip and wear. I spent around $850 all together but I think it was worth it with the results. I am not into modding cars, but a truck to me deserves to be personalized to taste like a big toy. I’ll be doing a system with 2 12s and all new speakers next.

Removing the remaining foam from the board was super easy. Get some lacquer thinner, spray or pour onto the foam, and it will instantly let go, so that you can just scrape it into a pile, let the soaked pile collect on to the next section and it will soak in and start lifting. Just push into a trash bag in one big pile. No mess.

That’s bad ass. Might have to do that to the interior of the 2500

my concern is the longevity of the paint on hand grabs. The rest of the pieces don't see any normal usage. I would love to do this though

Thanks fellas. Yeah I’m not expecting that plastic paint to hold up permanently, so I’ve got the full black parts list in cue. I’ll replace each piece one by one. I expect the A pillars to be the first to go. So they’ll be ready to be installed as they go bad.

I think if I did this, I'd do like you did. Paint what is a non-wear item, and get the factory black version for those high traffic areas. I can see buying just the hand grabs (a and b pillars)

Have you compared colors to see how closely the painted version matches the factory version? I'd hate to have them be off enough that it looks like a checkboard

Awesome work! Looks great! That parts list you mentioned, what's it total out to if you don't mind me asking? Also, I'm guessing you didn't take the windshield out to get the headliner out. Did you just have to remove all the interior from the door you chose to take it out of and shoe horn it in?

Everytime I see this I'm Sooooooooooooooo jealous. I wish I had the skill set. How, if I may ask, did you get the headliner out?

Wow. That is no less than a metric **** ton of work, but the results are exceptional. Nice work.
