I had posted previously about possible water leak that was showing up on passenger side rear seat but couldn't find any evidence of water infiltration anywhere on headliner. After a heavy storm I actually found a few small water drops from the rear of headliner. Finally found a few days of better weather to do some sealing work. Pulled the 3rd brake light and put a bead of sealant on cab and reinstalled. I did find that the left side screw wasn't tight when I went to remove it so that might have been an issue but the additional caulk makes me feel better. While back there ran a bead across top of rear window.

Also found moisture at top of driver side windshield and ran a bead across top of windshield. Had a storm last night and inspection shows everything is dry. Want to have a few more rainstorms to confirm infiltration has been stopped, but I'm hopeful.

I was going to suggest spraying your truck with a hose from different angles to test instead of waiting for rain, but I did the same when I replaced my cab vents.
I guess I don’t want that immediate answer to the question that my repair worked, that feeling of I just wasted my time.
Talking with a master plumber once, he mentioned he would always shake and hit any repairs/work performed, if he couldn’t make it leak, it was good.
Sound advice, but I usually can’t force myself to make my fix fail, it’s been a while since I did the vents and no water under the back seat.
Hoping your repair was successful, I’ll keep a eye out for your post that your leak free.

If the headliner wasnt getting wet or stained I doubt it was the third brake light because that will cause the headliner to get wet and stained becausethat is directlyobmver the headliner. More than likely you solved the problem by sealing the top of the window. Mine was leaking from the right side of the window so I concentrated on the right side. After not being able to seal it from the right side I ran a bead of sealant across the entire top the window which ended up fixing the leak.
