I wanted to test out black emblems on my truck so I plastidipped them.
I just couldn't bring myself to leave the red 5.7 Liter on the Hemi badge so hidden, so I used an X-acto knife to cut it out and peel it off. It worked out pretty well!
This is about 5 coats of black and 3 coats of glossifier.

Sorry if this is a stupid question because I've never used Plasti-Dip spray, but do you just spray the whole area around the letters and numbers and then cut away with a knife? It peels off the paint that easily?

Yes it peels off the paint easily, but with the main part of the emblems you don't need to use a knife, it will cut itself away. Watch a few "plastidip emblems" videos on YouTube and you'll get a pretty good idea of how it behaves.

Looks great I was wondering how to do my 5.7L badge!

Yeah, because the "5.7 liter" part already has a black background it ends up looking pretty good by just cutting out a rectangle. Just be careful not to cut too far to the edges or the chrome frame will start peeking out.

Done! One side came out better than the other, but overall I'm happy. Did the B pillars as well

Nice work, Kenster...still, I'm glad my '16 Reb came stock with black emblems! I don't think I'd have the patience to spray 'em with eight coats each!
