My blower motor is making some unusual noises. In case it needs swapped, I've been looking around for prices. Parts store units look like ****. Iffy reviews. Dealership wants $350 for one.
Was just wanting to see if anyone has used the Murray from O'Reilly's or Four Seasons from AutoZone. Napa wasn't too impressive either. Pretty much the same brands available from Rock Auto.

If anyone has had good luck with any of these options, I'd appreciate the feedback. Thanks

Describe unusual...video would be perfect too if the words fail you?

Occasionally a faint rhythmic squeaking sound. Sometimes a more noticeable sound that sounds like the fins on the wheel are rubbing on something as the wheel spins. Been my experience that those sounds progressively get worse and the part fails and I get to find out on a cold ass morning that I have no hot air moving. Lol.

Thing is in the past I pretty much always had to wait until something failed before replacing it cuz I was forced to. Now I can afford to stay up with stuff before it completely fails so that's what I'm trying to do. Main thing I'm looking for here though is to know if the parts store units are worth a damn.

It's not difficult to take out and see if something has fallen into causing the noise.

If you have a cabin air filter this can easily happen as it sits right above the motor. Worth a shot, only costs your time.

If it's bad, you are going to have to do it anyway.

Right. I was planning on it. Just wanted to get some insight into the available replacements.

Any particular brand? They pretty much have the same brands as the parts stores

Mine did this too at low speed for a while but it eventually stopped. I bet if you remove the filter and use some automotive HVAC cleaner/deoderizer your noises might cease.

The OP has a 14,it won't have the cabin filter, unless somebody has modded the heater box and added the door and filter
Good point, might have to cut it open and add the door.

The blower motor in the wife's 2011 Durango Citadel 5.7 did the same thing about 4 years ago. I replaced it with one from Oreilly's. It's still working just fine.

The blend door on my 04 1500 broke & fell on the blower. That was my noise. Still have OE blower at 420,000+. Just started getting bearing squeak now. I did a O’reileys blower on my C1500(97). 1st one was noisy 2nd works great. 3yrs now. Can’t remember the brand though.

I just removed mine and pulled off the sticker on the back/middle of the motor and dropped a few drops of synthetic oil in there and rotated the motor a few times, all good now. Very easy 10 minute job, remove the lower cover held in with 3 pushpins, 3 screws and disconnect the wire harness.

I got one off eBay for I think 60 bucks. Cheap Chinese stuff. But whatever. It doesn’t squeak anymore, although for some reason 6 blows faster than 7, and 7 blows at the same rate as 5. I messaged the seller about it and they refunded half my money. Good enough for me
