Hey guys so I picked up an 03 1500 about a week ago and have a question about the aftermarket Boost and Vacuum gauges the previous owner installed....I was under the impression that a boost gauge is only for a vehicle that had a turbo but I know the 03 gas 1500 doesn’t come stock with one....when I step on the gas the gauge goes up so it is functioning but when I look under the hood I can’t locate the turbo....I am pretty new to mechanics and I bought this truck not only to have a vehicle but I wanted something to learn and tinker with....if anybody can help me locate the turbo if any at all and let me know if I’m in right as far as having a functioning boost gauge means you have a turbo

Not often you'll buy a vehicle that has been boosted and the seller forgot to mention it. And 03's are notoriously for limited tuning and require considerable modifications to run boost. I suggest taking it to you favorite garage and having someone finding it for you....

Do you know if the boost gauge would work with no turbo?

For a actual boost gauge to indicate pressure above atomspheric pressure it would require some sort of boost. Typically a turbo, supercharger or blower. How many pounds does it indicate at say 6000 rpm?
