I am currently moving in two weeks and have a 20ft enclosed trailer that I will be pulling with my 05 power wagon. The total weight will be about 7000lbs. After plugging in the 7 pin, the brakes in the trailer arent actuating. The conclusion I have come to is that I need a brake controller. This is where I need help.

Does anyone have experience installing one on a power wagon. The youtube videos on a 2005 ram 2500 show a plug and play connection that I don't seem to have.

Do I need a trailer brake controller, or are my trailer brakes not working correctly?

The connector should be between the emergency brake pedal and the steering column. It looks like the below. You will need a wiring adapter like the Teknosha 3030-P for your truck. The adapter is the white piece in the pictures, the blue piece is part of the truck. Sometimes the factory like to hide them so look behind harnesses or brackets.

If you have the factory 7Way plug in the back, this is what you need. If not e-trailer has that also.

They also have a video for install on the 2005 Ram.

I still haven't located the connection for the controller.

Is it the grey piece in the picture with the fuse on the end?
