Brake light out and camera going crazy

I have a 17 Ram 11500 crew cab.For a long time now, sometimes when I start engine, my dash shows Brake Light Out. Also ever once in a while when I go to back up, my back up camera goes crazy. You can't see anything but just a bunch of multi colored streaks. I do not have any brake lights out. Also, I can get out of truck, drop my tail gate, put it back up and then my back up camera is working just fine. It doesn't do this every time but a lot. Wondering if I have a loose connection under truck or inside my tail gate. Both of these problems don't seem to happen at the same time. Truck is not parked outside. Has anyone had this problem and if so, what did you do to fix it or any suggestions? Thanks

There's a connection right on the bottom of the tailgate. Take it apart and clean it.

Have you checked both center high-mounted brake light bulbs? It is common for them to malfunction due to a slight water drip onto them from a leaking gasket.

Are you using OEM bulbs (not a substitute or LED)?

I second checking the connection and cleaning it for the camera.
