Is a Antenna required for blue tooth calls or streaming from the phone?

don't think so ....the phone is what gets the reception

Nope all that is required is that both the unit and the handset have Bluetooth and they are paired.

Awesome. Thanks for the response. My factory base assembly has been destroyed since 07 when someone stole my short stubby after a ram forum gtg and just never had any desire to repair it. Nice that i dont have too lol.

Finally got the new head unit installed as it's only been sitting for almost a year (Xmas present last year from my wife)

The HU is Clarion CZ501 and also had some door and rear kicker speakers put in. The HU paired to my phone right away as i will only use it to perform functions off my phone (music streaming, navi app and hands free calling).

Love it and wish i had it done much sooner.
