My question for the day. Since I upgraded my front and rear bilstein shocks in october (front set to 2.8 in and rear has a 1 inch spacer), my trucks has developed some pretty loud squeaks each time I run over bumps. Couple of people looked at it and suggested that it could be the bushings. I love the shocks and how they feel.

I never bought Bushing kits or even installed them ( I had a tire place install my shocks). Its a multiple question , but how much will it run me for the front and back, im looking for quality bushings so i need help on types ( rubber vs polyurethane) and is it something that I can do if I go out and buy the tools myself? I don't have a lot of space to work with on my driveway and I'm not too technical but I'm willing to do it.

Just debating on either doing it myself for getting someone to do it for me. Since I upgraded my shocks, I want to have quality stuff for my suspension, but without breaking the bank so I can get rid of the squeaking that is coming from all 4 sides of my truck.

Any thoughts or suggestion would be great.

atleast one thing you could look into is aftermarket UCA's cause im sure your ball joints up front are cranked beyond their limits.

I personally would look into the ZONE 2.5" Adventure Lift / Level. it will do a better job keeping your front end within factory specs improving the cv angles and wear on other components. Keep the Bils at oem height, and I would be willing to bet your ride would get better.

The ride is great. Nice and stiff with no bouncing around. Just the damn squeaking from all 4 corners..lol. its definatly not just a front end thing, so Im scratch my head because I know others here bought the same shocks, set to max in the front, with no issues.

When I got an alignment, they didn't see any issues with the ball joints and since I have 3 years of free alignment , I can't imagine its the angles but I could be wrong.

I'm just taking a stab at the bushings because when rubber is expanded ( or it could be over tightened) it would make that sound.

Is it possible for me to just climb underneath...loosen up the bolts that where removed then tighten them up to specs to see if that is the problem? I haven't done that yet because of the winter being crappy. I've never done that before so I will need to get the tools for it. I don't have to jack the truck up to do this if I'm just loosening the bolts, then tighten them up to specs, right?

Self bump... looking up the torque specs for the front and rear suspension... I will mess with that first instead of the bushing.. I'm just going to loosen up the bolts then tighten them up to specs but does anybody have that list?

I have had my bushings replaced on other vehicles, I always opt for poly. They will last nearly a lifetime whereas rubber is just very temporary. You can't have someone rock your truck back and forth while you get under neath? All 4 corners, that is weird.
