I am new to the Ram family—just purchased a 2021 Ram Rebel. I drove an F-150 3.5 eco for the past 9 years which served me well for 200,000 miles.

Having said that, I’m excited to be driving the Rebel and love the way it rides. It only has 19,000 miles on it so I’m hoping I’ll be driving it for many years to come.

Anything in particular I should pay attention to with this model year? I passed on the extended warranty as I still have engine and powertrain covered through June of 2028.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new (to you) Rebel! Nothing special comes to mind to look out that's specific to your model year, but for 5th gen 1500's in general there have been a few issues that are considered common at least thru the 2024 model year. Here's a short list off the top of my head...

1. Leaking rear window/CHMSL/shark fin. This can affect some of the electronics that are mounted to the rear cab wall.
2. Bubbling dash leather, but I don't think the dash in the Rebel is leather so it may not apply to you.
3. Etorque related failures. MGU and 48v battery modules have been known to fail. You didn't mention if your truck has etorque or not.
4. Cracked exhaust manifolds for Hemi.
5. Potential for cam/lifter issues with the Hemi, although supposedly that's less of an issue with 5th gens.
6. Sun visor pivot breaking loose.

I'm sure I've left something out but that should get you started.

I moved your thread to the Introduction section since this is an introductory thread.

Hi, congrats on the new RAM and welcome!

Let us know if we can help with any mods. We offer just about everything not just exhausts, like bed covers, suspension items, side steps, intakes, catch cans, lighting and much more. Just message me with what your looking to do and I can help with product recommendations and pricing!

@mikeru covered the usuals. We can definitely help if you ever get cursed with the all too common exhaust manifold issue.

Thank you for the welcome and Mikeru, I appreciate the feedback. I do have the ETorque on my 5.7 Rebel. Because it’s certified and has such low miles, I’m told I can get a bumper to bumper warranty through 2029. I’ve always rolled the dice and been fine without but I’m a bit torn not having owned a Ram before.

I bought it with a ready lift level and 34’s already on it so I’m happy with the stance and ride. My wife will want running boards/steps so I’ll be looking into purchasing and installing those.

Thanks again!

No aftermarket warranty I've seen covers as much as the factory warranty. Be sure to read the fine print on any aftermarket warranty so you know exactly what is and isn't covered.
