The Bigger Kohler Dual Cylinder motors valve adjustments PITA. Tho harder to get the gaskets than anything else. I always set the clearances at .004. I also cheated and use permatex also. KOHLER does sell their specific RTV sealant but stupid expensive.

OH YEAH, KOHLER was bought out. They R now REHLKO.

Mine is the Briggs & Stratton Intek v twin. 24hp, 726cc.

The valves are really easy to access. I set them to .004 as well.

It's been a good engine.

THAT B & S was a decent engine, as long as U maintained it. Now Cub Cadet has a 42" with Intelligent engine power dial, all it is, is a rheostat that increases engine RPM, so silly. I bought my 46" Twin Kohler, but due to CARB requirements they dropped the RPM and engine size a lil, so stupid, it's a Mower. I have had decent luck with the 46" and Kohler twins I bought, but as usual, unless U buy top of the line, they cheapen out. Heck the mower not even sold with an hour meter, but U can pop out spacer, buy, plug in wire there and pop in yer meter. WHY they just do not sell with the meter installed, and just up the mower price $42 (tho that is retail price, U know not wat manufacturer pay), is beyond me.

I got a 2009 MTD push mower with a B & S motor on it. Still going strong, just serviced it last week. Biggest PITA to do was replace "pull rope", which I did a few years ago. Just did oil, spark plug, air filter, and blade. I had to order a NEW BLADE for the push mower on line, no body had a blade for it in store, so stupid. 1st time I put on a new blade since I bought it, and I had to use torque wrench set to 150 lbs to get that crank bolt out. Been in there and ABUSED a long time, lol.

I can tell that my transmission is getting weak. It's the famous (or infamous) Tuff Torq K46.

Theyre cheap and easy to rebuild though. So, that may be a project I tackle in the near future.

Something I have never tackled and hope not have to. Haven't played with a tranny since like 1972, lol, and that was a 67 Impala SS< not a mower.
NOW the MX manual for the Cub says tranny lifetime, no service required, I know I know, sounds like a RAM Advertisement. Have never done rear end oil on a mower, may be a future endeavor, tho hope not, hard to get down there on the floor. Bad enuf when servicing my ""Trike"", lol.

As many of us are experiecing the heat wave across the country, here is what I saw when I left work at 3 today.

I think it's the highest temp I've seen on my EVIC yet.
This was at my dads house in eastern NC on the 4th. We left the next morning to come home to SW FL at 4am, and it was still 77. Felt just like Florida. I feel like we brought it back with us, as this past week has been nasty. I've seen 96 degrees on a Freightliner dash inside the building where I work at this past week :flame:

I'm almost afraid to ask, but what part of Ottawa were you visiting with feces on the sidewalks and Don't Eat Our Pets signage?

Many of the dog owners here are lazy and can't be bothered to be respectful and pick up their dog droppings. Or maybe they're just living on the edge by ignoring the stoop'n'scoop bylaws.

Dog owners used to be better at picking up after their pets, but in the past 10 or more years, it seems now that the scoopers are the exception.

Even in the rural area I live in, very few people scoop anymore.

.

Nah, this was definitely human. Unless someone is wiping their very large dog's ass and leaving the paper as well.

Trans-Canada trail between Victims of Communism sculpture and Garden of the Provinces and Territories. I'd suppose the urban outdoorsman living in a tent nearby may be related.

The signs are on poles in centretown area per Google maps labels. Elgin St and then back in the neighborhood near the Nature Museum.

My house doesn't even have AC.

The AC in my truck only gets used rarely, for about a week or 2 in mid August. The locals around here call it a heat-wave when it gets up in the mid to high 80s.
You must live in the extreme north part of the state, I know in the Yakima valley it can get very hot in the summer 107, their you need AC for 2-3 months of the year

My AC runs 9-10 months a year and sometimes more. Heck sometimes I fire up my secondary AC on the inside porch.

Yo, it took me 5 hours to install three additional footers for a spa platform. 15 minutes of work and drenched head to toe. Then 15 minute breaks and a liter of water downed. Back at it. Over and over for 5 hours. So hot and so sweat drenched, the dust alone settling lightly on my skin from pouring the fast set sakrete nearly turned me into a concrete figure. I almost turned myself into a Terracotta Warrior, my wife would have been so pissed :D This is ridiculous. I should have had all 9 footers installed in 5 hours.

Now that I took the coldest shower possible and scrubbed all my skin off, I'll just sit and relate to this. LOL. 96 Degrees In The Shade - Third World

Actually, I was at an advantage with humidity. It was ONLY 50%. However, it was probably more like 85% humidity within my backyard space I was working within because of all my sweat.

I know I joke around a lot, but this is a legitimate thing we saw in Ottawa. It's a sign with a bunch of dogs in a cage and it says dogs are pets, not food. Is this a thing that is happening here or just a general protest, if you're aware? (I know Canada is a big place, not everyone knows everything going on nationwide, but Google didn't bring up any news stories or anything)
I'm not sure as Ottawa is along ways from me,but were you in a China Town district?

No, not there or particularly close. One near the Ottawa City Hall on Elgin St and the other in the neighborhood near Massine's grocery on Somerset St W where we also saw a shoplifter flee from security. I don't think she stole a dog, though.
