It's been about 20 years since I've bought and owned a truck and I find myself in a position where I need one again. I've found a fleet vehicle 2008 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi with 235K for a very reasonable price. I won't be putting many miles on it - just need to do some hauling. I'd appreciate any feedback you all have on this year/model or any guidance on where I can do some reading on issues/defects.

Cheers!

I drove that truck in an extenda cab version for 2 years with no problems, which I can't say about the Ford that I drove before that. All in all, it was a good solid work truck for a 1/2T. I wasn't responsible for paying for any repairs or maintenance so I used it hard and still no problems. When they auctioned mine off it had approx. 150K on the Odo. HTH

I had a 2003 I bought new, but basically very similar. Biggest problems were both front bearings, a couple broken header bolts (definitely a thing for Hemis) and a O2 sensor issue. Put somewhere between 125 and 150k on it over 16 years and my parents use it now. I have a new 2500. I really liked that truck, and have no problems recommending one. Suggest taking to a good mechanic for a once over. Good luck

That's a lot of miles on a Hemi, while they are reliable, I would ask to see the Carfax and maintenance records. Good luck!
