I need a cab wiring diagram for an 04 Ram 1500. My trip computer stopped working, and I can't figure out why. The illumination bulbs stopped working too. The map lights work, but they are on a seperate circuit. There is no power goin to the trip computer, so I need to know where the wires go so I can back trace this thing and get it working. It went out 2 days ago, came back on this morning on the way to work and then didn't work again since.

Interesting development on this one...Found out that the right door window switch is not working either. Now here's the odd part. Early in the morning when it's colder, the trip computer and the window switch work, but once it warms up if one stops so does the other. I do believe they have a common grounding issue, I just need to figure out where the source lies. I'm guessing either a common ground or a common harness connector that is loose. Any help would be great. Thanx.

I'll check the fuses and see what else is involved with the outage. Gonna have to get the truck warmed up though, and it's really cold outside right now. I'll hit you up on your email. Thanks for the assist. Have a great New Year.

Thank you for the link to the diagram. As far as what is going on, I checked the fuses, and can't find any bad ones. The issue is still intermitant and the only things not working are the trip computer and the passenger window switch. I did however find that the previous owner put a jumper connection between the door lock switch and window switch, not sure why, gonna check the diagram to see what the wires are.

So after looking at the manual, I do believe that my window and CMTC issue is linked to a previous issue I asked about. I have an intermitant ignition switch issue as well. Periodically the ignition switch will turn everything on in the ACC position. The CMTC and the windows recieve a IGN on signal, if the IGN tumbler is not making the correct connections, the signals to turn on the power to those wires is not getting to them. This is going to take some serious testing and troubleshooting I just don't have time for right now. At least now I know where to start.

So.....I fixed it. It was a bad fuse, not the one that Hemitom thought it was. It turned out to be fuse 28, that was just for illumination, but the fuse was completely burnt out and the unit was somehow working part time. It works fine now, still don't know why the right window switch was linked to this issue as well. Not gonna get too wrapped around it, just glad it works.
