Its not CSX, its progress rail services. They do repair for csx and other repair and matiance.

Try to buddy up with someone there to. They are about the same for hiring. They like to hire friends and family.

Wearing collard, shirts and slacks to an interview always helps. I landed a job in college just the way I walked into the room looking decent and held myself with confidence. That was for a job working as a mechanic at a dealership. Presentation is everything and when you can show you are willing to work and look the part even with little experience you can be hired. Just what I've learned in my short years hope it can help you out.

well the intake will pay for itself in a year to 16 months

dont count on that. i have yet to see any difference in fuel economy from running an intake. if anything, its going to get worse because your going to floor it to hear it.

^^^^^This

In the tons of threads, there have been Little, no, or loss of mileage. I haven't seen a thread where there was enough gain to pay for itself.

My parents are not bad off at all. I don't have a poor boy truck matter a fact pretty much stole the truck couldn't ask for a better deal. I could drive that truck everyday of my life off someone elses dollar. BUT THATS NOT ME that's not how I was raised. My point with starting this thread was hey im in the market for a cai, but I do not have regular income at this time but will in early spring but id like for that to be sooner. Im 18, I have no bills as far rent, kids, property taxes and such. However, if anyone has a damn lead or info or interview tips id greatly appreciate it. Im not into having a ****** match with someone who wanting to bash me. Most people are right why buy a intake when you can buy gas. well the intake will pay for itself in a year to 16 months. I don't run around 24/7 ive put 8,000 miles on my truck this year and for 6 months out of this year I drove to school 30miles (there and back home) 5 days a week. Sorry for causing this mess like I said before its more then welcome to be deleted or forgotten. I dout I post much in here anymore so bashers bash away. For everyone that helped its very much appreciated and I'm very thankful for it.

OK chief, Google search these companies, go to their web sites, go to the employment opportunities sections, and fill out the on-line applications.

-Transocean
-Diamond Offshore
-Nabors Offshore
-Nabors USA
-Seadrill
-Ensco
-Nomac Drilling
-Hercules Offshore
-Noble Drilling
-Spartan Offshore
-Parker Drilling
-Pacific Drilling
-Atwood Oceanics

Put in an application at each one of these once a week every week until you gain employment (anywhere). For 8hrs/day and 5 days/week your job is to find a job.

ALL of these companies are hiring, this is what I've done for almost 14yrs (my entire adult life), started as a Roustabout (entry level) when I was 18. This is my advice to you, I hope you were serious about not being lazy (no offense intended, just sayin'), and good luck.

...and if it's not essential for survival or will assist you in gaining/maintaining employment (i.e. fuel & work clothes), you don't need to spend money on it right now, regardless of what ever your personal/home situation is.

Just a quick note.

These days, everybody wants everything Now. They see what others have and will going into debt to have the same. There is no patience and consumerism is huge, especially in North America. I'm guilty, I sometimes buy using my CC before I actually have money.

There is a lot I want to do with my truck, I have to be patient though.

Everything will not happen at once. When you see someone here or in person with a fancy truck or something of value know that it takes time. If you save and buy something with cash in hand it is yours, the feeling is so much better than buying with a CC or loan. You are 18, a whole lifetime in front of you, enjoy the ride as half the fun is getting there: half the fun is saving for that truck accessory. Trust me!

I wore jeans and a T shirt to my interview with the Marine Corps recruiter. Oddly enough I got hired. If I was 18 again that's where I would head.

Late to the party.coming out of highschool I was also a 4g certified almost 5g because of one blemish on xray. I fell into the whole (theres welding jobs everywhere sceme. Load of crap to be honest not in this economy). Any who stay strong. Im now 26 and finally have a wonderful job as a certified cad/cam programmer for a laser lt5 tube laser. It took years to find this job. I started as there only welder and in 6 months moved up to be best position in the shop. Just keep fighting to make yourself better. Dont ever let any boss or any body get you down. Tell people at any business you work at you want better opportunities within the place of work. You want to move up. You want to challenge yourself. That sort of thing. Believe me it might sound like your kissing ass. Its not. Sooner or later it will work. This place im working at it did. Stay proud and strong. And have confidence in yourself. It works out in the long run. At your age its hard to make good money. It never comes on a platter. Unless you have a famiky thats rich and spoils there kid. But sounds like its not your case. Hope this helps.

Welding / fabrication in Canada is huge. The gap between people who have 2-3 years plus a ticket and people who are retiring is growing. Easy to find work here, if you can't then you are either lazy or expect top dollar without true experience.

I stayed out of this thread for a while.....but anyways things are really starting to work out and head my way. Been doing odd jobs for people, carpentry, welding, atv matincene, oil changes on vehicles. Moving up in line for my position at Toyota btw! So all in all thank you guys for the help and tips its very much appreciated. More importantly I got my priorities straightened out thanks to you guys. And what I mean buy that it takes time and getting out there and don't stop. Also, a few of the local layed off coal miners are going back to work to and opening up so stuff is really changing for my community. However, I did manage to catch a steal on a intake. Its a k&n but I aint had time to put it on. But that's it for now I'm saving up for my own apartment and other stuff like clothes and work supplies so when I do finally get my stuff toghether and going that will be just less I have to worry about and its actually happening pretty fast to. Merry Christmas!!! And thanks for all the help and posts guys!
