camper shell light... revised camper sheel project

I just got a camper shell for my truck for my move to AZ in a few weeks. And the 3rd light doesn't work and the wiring harness is nonexistent. Is there any lights that i can get that will work with a four flat plug?

You could probably use just a LED strip.

Mine had camper shell wiring by the spare tire that I tied into. brown wire

No, the Flat Four wiring does not have a brake only circuit. If you dig around behind the driver taillight, you can find a dedicated brake light lead.

As for replacing the light on the camper shell itself. I think it'd be cool to use one of those "Line of fire" light bars on the inside of the glass.

I agree with Greg there, that would look sick. But if your only going to be using it to move stuff once than resell it or let it sit outside and rarely use it, i'd go with something cheap, or not fix it at all. If your gunna keep it on your truck year round, than go with something that says custom.

the shell is actually growing on me, think i just might keep it... i have a couple ideas for the lighting issues, and throw in two 5 foot led strips for the interior lighting as well... i dont know yet, havent decided yet...

I've been on both sides of the camper shell fence. I want one for the new truck.

I've had one, they are great if your looking for practicality. Keeps your cargo secureish, and keeps everything in the bed dry. Serves as a nice dry place to sleep when your ou camping and they have several other benefits too. But imho, when it comes to looks, they take away from the look of a truck. They make trucks look like SUVs. but if your never hauling big stuff, and want to keep everything in your bed dry and secure, they are great. but in the end its a personal choice

well i still havent made a choice yet, i do totally agree with you though on everything. if i cant turn it artound and sell it for what i paid for it, think ill just keep it, but that is only like 2 weeks away til my big move.

So i started to redue some stuff on the camper shell so i can get it in a sellable condition. so far i just re-did the screens. did those today, and it only took me like 10-15 minutes to do.

Looking into making the light work with a 4 flat or maybe doing some custom lights for the 3rd light...
