Camper shell on 2018

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 with the short bed. I want a camper cover but I notice the top of the tailgate to the truck is curved and the camper shells (I.e. Leer) are straight across. Does anyone have a shell on their camper and is that an issue?

I have 2 Ram 1500, they have essentially the same tailgate.

I have ARE model Z on both of mine. Color matched and perfect fit.

Mine has a piece on the glass that deals with the curve

If you buy a shell meant for your truck it'll match the shape of the tailgate.

Well I went and looked at a used Leer 122 and bought it. The way it works is there is an additional cap that fits over the tailgate that has a lip on it thus creating a seal. Got it for $450 so I am quite happy. It is made for my truck but Leer used an adapter to account for the fitting of the glass against the top of the tail gate.

Ditto on the ARE Z. Has much stronger hinges on the lid and fit my 2018 like a glove. They cost a little more but I keep my vehicles a long time and try to buy what will last.
