Ha Ha yep exactly. I got a price quote yesterday on my leer camper and with a partial sponsorship I am looking at 3400 for the top of the line with about all the options on it and a bed rug. Now I have to save.

Sweet merciful crap. That's about 2x what I thought it'd be.
Then again, I don't want any of their crap, just a camper shell.

I have a favor to ask. I have been quoted from a local shop (Note not my shop) on a new camper shell. If anyone has gotten a price quote in their area for the same would you please share the price you were quoted. Here is what I was quoted.
-Leer 100XQ, 09+ Ram 1500 short-bed, CC painted to match with black liner
$2418.00
-Leer front slider window
$75.00
-Leer/Thule Rack Aero Upgrade
$455.00
-Three way 12V power block
$75.00
-Leer Keyless Entry Access
$195.00
-Leer Gear Net
$75.00
-Bedrug
$549.00

Grand Total $3,842.00

They said if I let them sponsor me and allow a huge sticker from their shop they would knock of $300 off the price. That is only if I agree to attend 5 of the auto shows this summer.

What is everyones thoughts? I think it's very expensive but it is the top of the line stuff.

Oh and if anyone is board and wants to call their local shop for a quote of this equipment and share it with me I could really use the help. Thanks in advance.

Madcow, bought my topper about 3 months ago. I went with are just cuz it was cheapest and didn't need anything high end. I just use it for sleeping in during hunting trips. But your quote looks very close to all the numbers I was seeing. Sliding glass on my are was only 60, lining was free for a month special but normally it was around 100. I got a 12 volt adapter with 3 plug ins and that ran 100.

Have you looked at the SungTop? I have been very happy with my SnugTop for the last 5 months.

That's about a buck fifty too high on the bed rug, unless that includes installation. It's only 488 installed here at the local dodge dealership.

Also, there is no way I'd agree to be at 5 shows AND a big sticker for only 300 bucks. It'd be more like 150-200 per show and 500 at least for the sticker. I hate stickers, and my time is way more valuable than they think it is. You figure 5 shows at 6 hrs per show, they are only giving you 10 bucks an hr, and that don't include fuel to get there and back.

I would also think you could put your own 12v power supply in it for way less than 75 bucks.

I'm getting all my windows tinted tonight, and hopefully gonna get all the topper windows put at 5%. Don't like people being able to see all the stuff I leave back there. Especially during hunting season.

The best option is to sit back and look for a while. Many people take them off for what ever reason and never put them back on. With a little time and some luck, you will find one for sale on craigslist (or somewhere). I scored the exact type that I wanted for my '01 long bed. They were asking $300 obo. I got it for $150, spent another $150 for matching paint and done.
