If you ever get annoyed with it, I'll gladly borrow it for a while.
LOL! I'll tell 'ya what, if you are in the LA (Los Angeles) area let me know. The first one I ordered didn't have the extra light I ordered in it so I returned it for a full refund. I'm sure the shop still has it, it was only a few weeks back. I had to order from different shop so I don't know what happened for sure. You may be able to get a deal on it though?!

That's only 600 miles each way.. Totally worth a cheap shell :shakehead:

I'm in the L.A. Area (Ventura County). Looking for a shell as well. Was yours a short bed? long bed?

I've got a Jason brand, forgot the model (maybe Pace). I had the side windows deleted, and a fold down front window for cleaning. I had the installer install a LED lighting system in the bed, and love it. I paid about $1800.00 for the cap, lighting system, mud flaps, and ventvisors.

I don't need the side windows as I don't haul around animals, only store my hunting stuff during hunting season, and I don't like gawkers looking at my gear.

Great item!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have had more toppers than I can remember!!!

Keeping stuff in the bed, DRY, is a big plus. Wish I had a $5-bill for every night I slept in one on hiking, fishing and camping trips!!!!! Kept me out of the rain, wind, etc.

Now, I do not have one (at present) on my 2013 as the wife hates them, but I do miss the many advantages of the Top.

However, if you have to remove it, it takes 3 or more people as they are HEAVY and a little arkward to lift!

Yes, Leer is pricey, but they are WORTH the cost!

My next one I will get the "factory-liner" on the inside of the top!

Happy & safe trucking to all :happy160:

Camper City in Memphis quoted me $1800 or a one with a scratch or 2 on it for $895 and they fix the scratch. And the camper shells look great.

Camper Shell - Leer 100 XQ / Line X question.

I realize that this is an old thread and talking about 4G's, but, I wanted to ask if anyone has tried Line X (platinum?) on a shell? Also, did you happen to get it color matched? If so, how'd that turn out?

I don't know what kind of look you're going for but we tow a 25' travel trailer behind our 2012 1500 and this Leer topper gets the air up and over and around the trailer quite well. It made a lot of difference towing as well, more stable, no sway when trucks pass and mileage went up 1-2 mpg occasionally. Good luck!

Man I am considering getting one eventually now.... I think they look SICK on a truck that has a level/small lift and decked out for offload/off grid/survival!

I've got a huge deal on a Fibrobec z series ( I think in the usa they are branded as "Are") I paid 900$ for it .

I hesitated for a long time about getting one and I didn't regret it so far.

I really love the fit of this topper on my truck and match really well with all my mods.

A.R.E. Overland

I ordered an A.R.E. Overland, which has the line-x spray on it. A little boxier than the Z or some of the leer's y'all have posted, but I like that look. I got the tilt down front window, L.E.D strip, headliner and yakima rack. Out the door was about 1800 here in Spartanburg, SC. I found a lot of price variation as I called different shops. Was quoted almost 500 dollars more from a place in Alabama that my Dad did business with. It should be here in another week or so. Doing a 1.5 in level soon, and then new tires within the next year probably on my 2013 1500 CC. I'll post pics as soon as the top gets installed.

Hey all, I'm looking at getting a shell for my '09. Gotta have room for my dog, and then I can feel fine about leaving my son's football gear in the bed unattended as I go in the store or something. Anyways, I was wondering if the shells for a 3rd gen will fit and look right on a 4th gen? I keep seeing 3rd gen shells on craigslist and such for sale, but not so much for the 4th gens. I would prefer to buy used and opposed to new, due to cost and eventually color matching the Sunburst Orange I got on my 1500.
