Can anyone identify this nut and where it came from?

My truck was in the shop for a couple of weeks. I was cleaning it this morning when I found this nut on the passenger side floorboard.

I don’t think it came from the seat, and I do t see any studs under the glove box.

I texted the mechanic and he didn’t know either. He said they didn’t do any work inside my truck.

Maybe one of the mechanics dropped it?

It doesn't look used, my bet it was a "spare" dropped during assembly and just rolled into view.
Wonder where it could have come from then. The truck is cleaned at least once a month, but normally every two weeks. Never notice a nut just chilling before.

It fell out of the 10mm socket that I hear goes missing all the time, I am old school so I just lose 1/2" stuff.
I do lose the wife in stores quite often.

That begs the question; do you go find her or does she find you….before you get away?

Anybody's guess. Back in the day would often see hands full of screws in trunk of cars, sometimes a spare radio or other surprises.
Then there were the nuts thrown into the rocker panels. Irritating for sure.

I find her in the ladies wear, or small kids stuff most times, as we have a new GG daughter.
I spend way more time in the coffee / chip section.
with a new hip she can't get too far.

The only thing I find is dust bunnies and dirt in my trucks.

I agree it doesn't look like it's ever been installed, but if i was to hazard a guess,it looks like it could have been one of the nuts that attaches the seat track to the seat. If it was it could of been laying up in the seat track somewhere, and finally decided to fall out

Its a bare nut meaning there's no paint on it so I would look under the seat or under the dash. Check the seat and seat slides and take a peek up under the dash and look for a dash support bracket. Those are really the only places inside the cab that a bare nut would come from. I do however agree that it doesn't look like its ever been used so I wouldn't worry too much about it
