My 2007 1500 Megacab when it is in 4x4 mode and I make turns more than 1/4 of a steering wheel turn in either direction, the truck just hangs up and doesn't want to move. It works fine when not in 4x4. Is this normal?

Are you trying to turn on pavement or something with good traction? If so yes because you will be binding the entire drivetrain and run the risk of causing failure in the transfer case. If you are off-road or in low traction situations you may notice a little binding but it shouldn’t cause the vehicle to hang up. If you are in serious off-roading or no traction situations it should drive fine.

With 4x4 on is meant to go straight. Or at least do not over turn. That’s how I use my truck anyway

Sounds like you're driving on dry pavement. If it's binding when turning you probably don't need to have it in 4x4.
