I have a 2011 Hemi with intake/tb spacer/magnaflow exhaust/diablosport i1000 dcx. I am looking to finish up the rest of the exhaust and am picking up the jba shorties and the magnaflow y pipe.

My question is this. For putting in the headers, I know they will bolt into the 2 bolt flang right in front of the cats. And installing the y pipe, I have two options for this. I leave the cats, cut right behind them and hard weld in the y pipe to get rid of the huge dimple cutting off flow.

Or...

I take off right from the flange, weld the y pipe to the rear section, cut the cats out and straight pipe it up to the flange at the bottom of the headers.

Will having no cats throw a code (I live where emissions dont matter and usually cut my cats out of my projects). If it will throw a code, does it affect performance, or is it just from the rear 02 sensors not being in their range and just throwing a warning code? If so... I was looking at the Vibrant 02 90* extension with the pills in to limit the exhaust and hopefully not throw said code.

Anyone have any experience, or have some words of wisdom (besides the usual long tube header argument!). :favorites13: Thanks guys.

Yeah, you'll throw a code without cats. I use 90* 02 extensions like the Vibrants you mention with my longtubes( no cats aswell) without issues that way I'm not dependent on a custom tune to tune out the 02s.

Yeah, I might go the custom route next summer... good to know the extensions work. Ill probably cut them out and just straight pipe it all in one install to save myself time and headache
