Hi,

I'm about to pick up my 16 ram sport at the dealership Thursday.

A few people recommended that I put a cold air intake filter system in and a cat back exhaust system in.

I don't know much about mechanics or different options. It would be the most convenient, to just let the dealership install it for me.

My question is;

Are the Ram Mopar products good for both?

Several people told me KN cold air intake and Borla cat back exhaust. ( problem is i don't think dealership deals with those, and since I don't know much on mechanics etc, I wouldn't know which product model to order for my truck.)

Thanks in advance

Ghost

From what i hear you'll be wasting your $ on the dealer products but blowing your warranty any other way tune wise plus tge dealer doesn't even offer a tune, kinda damned if you do & damned if you don't.
Just do like i did & shop around for what you like & get it,installing bolt ons is so easy a caveman could do it.
Most people like the vararam & it looks killer but the best thing to do would be to get a ported throttle body as it doesn't require a tune & if you get a tune since yours is a 16 it'll cost you around a grand as you'll also need a 14 pcm as the 15+ ram pcm's are locked & after you shell out that grand you'll get a couple extra hp @ the expense of no warranty so it's a gamble, good luck.

The most you will get out of those 2 add on you want, will be sound. Not real performance.your truck has a great factory air box. The exhaust is just going to give you the sound you want.

Oh no kidding? Wow I was told by a few different sources and the manufacturer websites for those products increasing HP but most importantly for me, a 4mpg increase in gas mileage. The sound was just an extra bonus for me.

If sound is all I'll get out of the deal then I may not even worry about those upgrades then.

You'll pick a little power up, and maybe .5 mpg. I put an S&B CAI and an MBRP cat back on my truck. Sounds killer

If your doing the exhaust for the sound . You will get worse fuel mileage. The reason the mileage will drop is simple. You will love hearing that hemi talk. And to hear her talk she needs gas. That's what happened to mine when I installed the flowmaster 50.

This is a good point!!! :roflsquared:

But there are small performance gains, nothing to write home about but still make the engine perform better.

As for a dealer doing them, No way. Take it to a shop or do it yourself. A catback system and Air intake are entry level easy things to do... Plus its more rewarding for most on a personal level. There are tons of Youtube videos out there to walk you through the process.

As for parts suggestion on the Air intake, id go with a S&B or the Vararam. as for exhaust thats really more up to your choice of sound and how aggressive you'd like it.
