Alright so I'm pondering a fixed install of a CB in my wife's '14 Ram 2500 CC. Nothing to fancy, just a Cobra 75 and would like to do a fixed antenna mount if I can though I can probably make due with a magnetic mount antenna I've used with a handheld unit I have. So far I haven't really found too much in the way of fixed antenna mounts for a full size truck. A little annoying when I can find at least a dozen different mounts for my Jeep.

Thanks in advance, any suggestions will be helpful.

I plan to use an antenna mount similar to this for my 2m/440 Ham radio. I'd recommend a stainless steel version.

NGC makes a model that fits our Ram (DG2ANTPF)- Mounts/Brackets only | Comet Antenna

Cheers,
Bob
Any thoughts about the Breedlove Mounts for the bed? I'm wanting to use my HF rig in the truck too. But I like that fender mount!

Heavy duty stuff, you must be looking at Scorpion antennas.

The challenges with HF are far greater than the mount. Before you move forward with a HF setup on the truck read this: Antenna Myths

I'm going to stick with 2m/440 and my APRS setup. Old school tracking but still fun to do.

Oh yeah lots of grounding, and good antenna, and and tuner, and so on...... I was looking at the Little Tarheel antennas, then the separate 2m/440 set up, as far as antenna's go. But the more research I do the less I find that HF Mobile radio's do Cross Band Repeat, which is something I am after. I think I may have to get the Yaesu FT8900R or something that is dual band that can do the cross band repeat. Which eliminates all that work for the HF set up Mobile.

Never liked the looks of a fender mount....A nice tri mag on the roof would do the trick for me...Lotsa metal underneath then...
Been thinking of a cb in my sport but im not cuttin hole for an ant ant im not doin the fender thing either..For now im in a full time battle with my plastic/ composite metal freightliner..With my stryker 955 i barely get 5-7 miles but i have picked up skip(doesnt count i know)cpl thou mi away..

That's what I was thinking. I'm in a small enough town, I should be able to. Our County Sheriff has a 4th Gen Ram, 2014. I would like to see what they did!

I used a Breedlove stake pocket mount for my ham antenna with the NMO antenna connection. He sells many variations of his mounts for different applications such as CB antennas.
