Is there a "correct" CB antenna mount?

I've got a firestick antenna that I've had sitting in my garage forever. I'd like to finally get it mounted. I have a 2019 2500 with LED headlights......does anyone have a CONFIRMED working antenna mount for under the hood? I'd like to see it mounted on the front where a traditional antenna would normally be...drivers or passenger side, doesn't matter. I see all sorts of ads for them online and on shops....but then lots of reviews saying THIS DOESNT FIT, etc etc etc. Like to see if someone here bought one and can assure me it's compatible. Thanks,

Do you have people you want to talk to on CB? I go wheeling in my Jeep and nobody is using CB anymore. Most are using GMRS or ham. I bought one radio that will do both and tossed my CB.

In California, Highway Patrol Sergeants still have a CB Radio

I have several Hand Held CBs, that on occasion, i rent to the CHP, etc. ( when we are working on the same moving job )

We had the Power Company Lifting their Power Lines up
Mobile Homes were too tall.

I think there were 4 or 5 CHP with us

There is so much resistance in the community against “properly” mounting a transmit antenna. I admit it was one of my concerns as well … until it hit me that every airplane in the world….(which is sensitive to structural and aerodynamic issues far more than a pickup truck)…. airplanes mount antennas directly on/thru the sheet metal in the best “ground plane” locations available …and without any issues of 100-knot+ driving-rain, sleet, ice, sun,… you name it…. I finally mounted my CB antenna with the same dedication. Mount it in the center of the roof if possible…. or on top of a bed-mounted toolbox behind the rear window… OR…if REALLY adverse to that, mount a PAIR on the hood-lips (driver And passenger sides) to acheive good ground plane and a good elliptical transmit/receive/range pattern….IF….IF you want really good CB performance.

If you only need a mile or so of range…. then mount it anywhere you think preferable and accept the reduced performance.

Worried about resale of your truck? There are many simple solutions to returning a hole back to perfect invisibility or suitable substitute…. however, why wouldn’t the next owner appreciate a proper-quality antenna installation?

I still have an old CB radio or two and a magnetic mount antenna that I can toss on the cab roof.
The antenna downlead fits under the weather strip on the least used door, back passenger-side for me.
Not ideal but great for intermittent use.

If I wanted something permanent, I'd mount it on the hood lip and route the downlead through the firewall.
