Who here has a CB installed?

What did you install for the radio and antenna?

Where did you locate the antenna(s)?

What are your channel choices???

I've got a cobra 19 DX lV hard wired in. It's mounted between my cup holders and the middle front seat. It's mated a single Wilson 2000 antenna that's mounted to the bed.

ive got a connex 3400hp. little overkill for a pickup but what the hell. 19 is what all the big trucks run on most of the time.

I have an old Royce 23 channel that's been in most of my vehicles since the late 70's.

My 8 ft whip is mounted in the inner back passenger corner of my bed.

I run a cobra 29 with a skip shooter antenna mounted on my rear bumper. Not the best location but it works well enough for me.

I did a bit more research and ended up with a Cobra 75 WX ST with an Everhardt TSM4 antenna. Since all the radio "guts" are in the mic, it's a very clean setup. I installed the antenna on the driver's side over the front fender/hood just to get the best ground plane I could for signals and for it to be omni-directional.

Looks like channel 17 is used on North South freeways, channel 19 on East West freeways.

Well, since I hit the road again next week, I'll get a chance to test it out.

I have a Cobra 75WXST, its the one with the everything built into the mic. With dual K40 fiberglass antennas. Not on it much anymore, but still use the weather function.

Would like to see some pics of antenna and radio mounts... I know there are some other threads on this topic, but I still haven't found a good fit for my truck.

Miss the old days when you could put a typical mirror mount antenna on your truck.
