Cell phone charging erratically

I have an Apple 12 cell phone and a 2019 Ram Limited truck. When I put the phone in the charger slot it charges erratically (sometimes it flashes red, other times a solid blue, mostly flashing red. I shift the position a bit, but it just doesn't work correctly. My last phone worked pretty well. This phone is a bit taller than my last phone. Anyone have a solution?

I have the same issue w/ my iPhone 13 max and low profile otterbox. Tested it without the case and works fine. Think we just have to find the right combination of case and perfect placement on the charger.

For mine it's left/right placement. I have an S20, it needs to be positioned to the right of center for it to charge correctly. Not sure if this has to do with the battery position inside the phone or what but that's my experience.

Try placing it sideways in the slots. Nothing says it needs to be vertical.
