driving with cruise control set. Engine went to idle with no throttle response. Pushed accelerator twice and normal response returned. No error code. Runs: drives normally with no abnormal gauge readings. Check engine light remains. Any ideas? How to reset CEL...?

Welcome to RamForum.

If you have any auto parts stores nearby, stop by and see if they can't read the code. Many can reset it as well.

Other ways to reset the code are 1) pull the battery terminals and power down the truck completely. Leave them disconnected for at least 30 minutes. 2) Find the powertrain control module fuse and pull it out for at least 30 minutes. 3) If it was a momentary fault and the problem has corrected itself, the computer will reset itself after 3 to 5 key cycles. A key cycle is where you start the truck, drive it, then turn it off. After 3 to 5 such trips the code may reset if a hard code was not stored.

If the code returns after any of those scenarios above, there is something that needs attention. Get the code read and post it up here. We can help diagnose the issue further.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
