I just picked up a 2016 cclb dually it has cloth power heated seats I want to pick up some used leather heated and cooled seats. My question is beyond the dash switches is the wiring already there for this it does a different harness gave to be installed. Second concern do I have to program the ecu or will it just work with replacing the switches and seats

@Mpgrimm2 might be able to help answer your questions and if the wiring isn't already present he can likely make the harnesses you need to get it all working.

If you have heated power seats & wheel, with driver side adjust and the 120v outlet already, up should have the needed wiring to install a set of 2013-18/classic 4th gen seats. (Not 09-12 seats or 19-21 New body style 5th gen seats.)
Laramie, longhorn & limited seats will be leather, vented and have memory features.
You likely don't have the wiring for memory, but it can be added later.

The heated functions will work, the vented/memory features will require BCM changes yourself via AlfaOBD/OBDLink MX BT adapter... Even if you get the correct switch panel below the radio

Coming in way late on this thread, but it's basically the question I have. 2016 1500 Sport Crew Cab, with the heated leather/cloth seats. I only have a 115v outlet. Does also have a heated steering wheel, is it possible (and how difficult) to purchase and install the cooled seats?

Hi Mike,
I installed heated steering wheel and seats and have enabled them in JScan. I can see deterring wheel and seats on 8.4 display but they are greyed out. I thought getting physical switched would fix that but it did not and also none of the buttons on the switch panel work like Tow/ skid. Should they work right off the bat? Or do I have to enable something? Like Aux switched settings ?

This is a screenshot of AlfOBD for windoze. PowerNet 2016+/BCM...

CHL, the vented seats option looks the same in the 2013+ PowerNet BCM settings.

Where did you get your heated seat harness from?

Factory 8.4 radio or did you do the full 8.4 HVAC conversion (req'd) from smaller radio? (& Which radio version/part # ... Or just swap radio and use steering wheel controls?

Harness came with HSM and memory seat module. I had to modify a bit but for most part it was almost complete set from underneath the driver seat. I had factory 8.4 radio but upgraded to 2018 CarPlay one. Canadian Version 22 I think. If none of the buttons work even Tow like I had before most likely the switch is bad, I just don’t see how it could be.
Also, when I replaced the clock spring I got airbag light on with B-0001 and 2 saying “driver frontal squib control - circuit open”
Is there a fuse perhaps that got blown?

2013 truck with 4c radio will have the greyed out seat buttons... Known CanBus communication issue with earlier BCMs. Have to use the hardware tow/haul seat buttons below the radio. (Or get customtronix Enzo).
Or something's wrong with your harness, which I can't really help with since I don't know what you have vs something I provided (ie the squip error is for the airbag.)

* PSA: see post 344 (similar concept)

Should have known it was going to be issues all the way as with that ATC climate control upgrade.. Still stuck with US system.
Sorter the airbag issue ( faulty clock spring) and swapped PCB board from my truck into switch that has heated seats buttons and the buttons do work but no LED lights up on physical buttons. Even though heated seats/ steering wheel buttons are greyed out in 8.4 screen I can see the graphics change and also Hi/Low on screen. So that is a very good news.
The only issue I have now is that Tow/ traction buttons don’t work.
Also the jailbroken Enzo only gives more video/audio inputs. I don’t understand how it would help me
