Ok so what cold air intakes does everyone run? I am trying to find out which one works the best on a 2003 with a Hemi.

I agree. The S&B is my favorite intake for the 3rd gens. Pair it up with 1 of their cold air scoops, and it will not only look great, but it will outrun all the other kits as well. Only intake that compares to its performance with the scoop would be the Vararam, but I like the fit/finish of the S&B better on the 3rd gens.

Ebay piping, K&N air filter. About $80. I like it, no complaints and sounds good as well. Got slight gain in preformance but nothing to throw you back in your seat

That looks nice, but the metal tube will absorb a lot of heat and the smaller diameter piping doesn't move as much air as the hemi motor wants. I tried some very similar setups to yours on my 03, and I saw much better results when switching to 3.5"-4" plastic tubing.

I was seeing intake temps as much as 25* hotter with the metal tubing than I saw with the plastic. You got your filter placement right which is a definite plus though. On my 03, there was also a little plastic/rubber shroud on the side of the radiator that I removed to allow some more fresh air to the filter.

Thanks. Eventually I will upgrade a little. I am saving up for all my other mods that I can put in all at once. I figured this would just be a nice upgrade from stock

I use a K&N-77 wrapped up with insulation. But the point I'd like to add to CAI's selection is the ease of removal when working on the engine. Keep in mind pretty much any work requires the CAI removal. So during the selection make it easy on yourself.

I am seeing a few votes for S&B. Does anyone have some pics of the S&B setup on the Hemi?

All of the S&B CAI kits are for the 5.7L Hemi's. Do they have any for the 4.7L motors?

You can use the 5.7 with a coupler and it'll work for the 4.7, that's what I'm looking at doing.

I just installed a Spectre cold air intake kit to my 2008 ram 5.7 Hemi, the metal box that comes with the kit and houses the filter is slightly too tall and my hood doesn't quite close all the way on the passenger side (not enough to really matter, you can barely tell with the naked eye). I've notices other systems on here who have routed the filter to hang down on its own. Any tips on how this is done or where I can find some? I feel like I will notice more from the system if the filter is more free. I have uploaded 3 pics of my setup now, and 2 of another setup i found in this discussion. Any comments or suggestions?

I may be wrong but the box looks like it is for a ram air type hood or something. Is there a hole in the bottom to allow cold air flow?

I have an Air raide system and a cowl induction hood. It sucks a lot of air in and performs well.
