I would like some opinions on cold air intakes. I've glanced online at a variety of websites but it gets a little convoluted and wouldn't mind some clarity - I have 2011 Ram 1500 (4.7)

Your stock intake does a good job. Unless you want something that looks better or makes more noise or if you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, stick to the stock intake.

I did but it looked like a lot of reading, which is totally ok, but I thought I'd try the short cut first.

Found a good used S&B for my 2014, it is a top quality piece, fit perfect and the filter is probably close to twice the size of the stock filter. It is a true cold air filter unlike a lot of them on the market and it does make a little more noise when you put it to the wood which is cool.

Yep.......but it makes it sound the same as when we used to flip the air cleaner lid upside down on a Quadrajet (about the same HP gains also)
