What do you consider complete? Do you want oem or upgrade to aftermarket?

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas

I went with JBL's Club series in my truck. I replaced the dash speakers plus the 6x9's in the doors and ran them all off of the stock head unit. A major improvement over stock. I've thought of adding a powered sub to it to finish out the low end. I replaced the speakers last summer and they're been great and I've had no regrets with what I got. I bought them from crutchfields and got the adapters to hook into the oem harness without any cutting, just plug and play. This summer I replaced the head unit and it made an improvement in sound also. It has Carplay and Android Auto; I wish I would have upgraded it sooner. Which head unit do you have in your truck now?

12's in a standard cab? I don't know but the proper size box for a 12 to be efficient wouldn't fit in the truck.

What do you recommend
In a regular cab 10's would be about right, but in today's world who knows. It sounds like you need to find a good auto audio shop and start asking these questions. You also ask about adapters in another post, if you are using the stock wiring then yes unless you want to cut off stuff and splice. I'm sure Huston has several great stores to go to pick the brains of a good salesman or installer to get you on your way. First go in with an open mind and an honest set budget. Since you seem to know the brand of speakers you might want you should know the money you want to spend.

I cloned an MTX Terminator box and put two 12's in it for my 04 standard cab. It rocked!

I just finished doing mine. I have a regular cab. I replaced the rear speakers with Infinity Reference 2way 6x9's and currently have Kicker 6x9 2ways in the doors. I bought the Infinity Reference Component 6x9's to match the rears but haven't gotten around to having them installed yet. I kept the stock radio Uconnect 3 I think with 5" screen pretty basic. One thing I would recommend is getting a good line out converter. I have the Audiocontrol LC7i (it has features like internal summing, bass restoration, etc). This will give you a clean signal to work with and you can still keep the factory head unit. The amp I chose is Alpine MRV-V500 5 channel. Good clean power in a very small package. The power ratings are very conservative for this amp (running my sub at 2ohm, amp birth sheet says 345 Watts rms instead of listed 250 watts). For subwoofer I went with Kicker 10", perfect fit behind the driver's seat. I'll try to post some pics

I just finished mine on my 16 regular cab. Replaced all 6 speakers with mopar kicker speakers, added a kenwood head unit with built in amp in April, made a big difference in sound, and just added the kenwood ksc sw11 powered under seat subwoofer. Sounds pretty damn good, only got about $550 total in parts, installed radio and speakers myself, buddy did the sub for me, it was simple.

Did you use a ported or sealed box ?

That's a sealed box, with a single 12 and a 12 radiator.... Basicly a fake sub that moves to react to air pressure inside the box, acting short of like a port... In a since, it's a hybrid between sealed and ported
