Well it's been a little over a year now since I sold my 2016 Ram 1500 Sport and I utterly miss having a truck. Been highly considering getting back into a 1500 while there are still 2024's on the lot with a hemi as I am still not sold on the new hurricane being a viable or good option for a few more years.

My biggest concern and I guess what I am really looking for is how does the the air ride suspension hold up in the 5th gens? I now live in an area where it doesn't get below 0 Celsius much, or for very long. In the past I lived in Northern Ontario with -40 Celsius being a norm for weeks at a time and air ride suspension trucks were very few and far between and those that did have it would sell their truck after the first year due to all the headaches. I'm very picky with the options/specs of the truck I'd enjoy and this was nearly identical to my 2016 except for the air ride and sunroof. Biggest thing is blacked out truck with 3.92's and 124L gas tank.

Current vehicle: 2024 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Turbo, 9400km. Owe: $22,400. Current trade in value: $35,100-$37,500

I have read where the list price for the 24-25 Rams were the reason they weren't selling. I haven't looked to see how much they were asking, but this post opened my eyes, and holy cow Batman! That's ridiculous.

$96,000 for a half ton truck. If you have the cash to purchase one would be foolish to purchase a depreciating asset. If you don’t have the cash, even more foolish to take out an $80,000 loan (I realize this is Canadian dollars). I’m permanently out of the truck market.
Collector cars aside, any vehicle you buy for regular use, new or used, is a depreciating asset. While financing a new truck isn't for you, it's not up to you do decide what is and what isn't right for another forum member. Please keep your judgement to yourself.

I'm in eastern Ontario and I am on my third RAM Longhorn all of which had air suspension ... I have never had an issue with any of them ... My present truck is a 2020 5'th Gen model and I purchased it new in 2020 ... No problems with the air suspension ... My driving is strictly highway and city ... I do not go off-roading but have towed a boat and used country roads from time to time ... My take on the air suspension is if you don't abuse it, you should be fine ...

You may benefit from going over to caredge dot com. I have no affiliation with them. ... I used their site when I bought my 2024 3500. I think I spent $30 on a few things they offer and saved around $18,000 from my local dealership. Plus I did it all over the phone, text and email. When I bought the truck I spent less than an hour at the dealership. Showed up, inspected the truck, signed the documents and drove off. I'm not saying I wouldn't have gotten that price without that website but I'm thinking they were a big help. They cover a ton of topics I really thought I knew about but had no idea. Good luck!

I live in North Texas so we do sometimes see the temps below freezing and sometimes it will get
down to 0 Fahrenheit. My 2020 has air suspension and I have had no problems during my 75,000
miles of trouble free ownership. I have made some trips to colder climate during the winter and haven't experienced any issues with the suspension. Perhaps I've been lucky based on other reports I've read here but from my view the air ride was a good choice.

I was super hesitant buying a 2025 Laramie with the new Hurricane. Mine has the SO engine. So far I have put just over 2k miles on it and I like it a lot. I talked a lot of trash about the Hurricane Vs. Hemi. I'll be the first to admit and I'm eating my own words. The engine is super responsive. I'm also averaging 3 more MPG's than I did with my previous HEMI's. She can easily get away from you with the added HP and torque. I didn't care to have another sunroof, but the panoramic roof has really grown on me. My favorite feature is dynamic cruise control. It really is a set it and forget it feature. It will bring you to a complete stop when traffic stops. Just hit the resume button to get going again. You literally never have to put your foot on the brake or gas pedal under ideal conditions.

I almost ended up in a Tundra, but their 2025's just came out with new engines and they have many recalls. At least the Hurricanes have been out a few years in the new Grand Waggoneers.

How important it is for you to have a sunroof and/or any other options you can get cheaper 2025 options for a RAM sport, like this one for $68,741:

https://www.oakvillechryslerdodgeje...new-1500/oakville/on/62772437/?sale_class=new
Sunroof/Panoramic sunroof is actually one option I heavily dislike and typically never want in my vehicles. Honestly if I could find a blacked out 1500 Sport with 3.92's, 124L tank, and leather interior I'd probably buy it on the spot but finding a truck with those options is near impossible especially around where I live. I'm far Northern Ontario small town and a 13 hour drive from the Toronto area.

I took a new 2025 Sport with a hurricane engine out for a test drive recently and have to stay overall very impressed with the truck and the responsiveness but it's still a first year jitters thing for me and I can't see myself pulling the trigger on a 2025. I ended up backing out of the deal on the truck in my original post as the dealer tried to pull some scumbag stuff and said they installed a tonneau cover and wheel locknuts and that was an addition $2786 to the price of the truck and non-negotiable or removeable so I told them to pound sand after I was willing to buy if they'd remove it.

I Had 2 air suspensions in a row. 4th and 5th gen. Both were headache free and the 5th gen was just that much smoother.
It’s the best riding pickup on the market, period

With that said, my winters never get below 0 degrees Fahrenheit and that’s only a few early mornings a year, and both trucks only had about 40k miles on them when I got rid of them so I can’t vouch past that.
I was ready to by a Chevy Duramax last fall. Saw an end of year add for a 24 Laramie and took it for a test ride. It was the most comfortable ride of any vehicle I've driven. I couldn't pass it up, especially at the price they were selling for ($55k). I love the truck.
