this guy needs a powerwagon for presence....a standard 2500, ford, chevy, or Ram wont do it... the Powerwagon is in a league of its own in stock form.(textured bumper/winch/grill)

i was debating the new Raptor vs Powerwagon when i purchased my 18 in december of 17...

major decisions-
Wont break the ram
V8
Real Axles

Major Drawbacks-
Heavy for my driving style
MPG
almost Tired of answering questions about it!

my setup certainly puts the beast as close to a raptor as possible, and i will crush one in everything but speed.(this is TBD offroad)
with the nanny bypasses and 2 rear hi, you will NOT have more fun in a raptor.

in saying that
I would love to add a raptor to my stable...i sold my Hellcat for my PW, and the TRX would be the next best thing but it doesnt exist.
a full bolt on current gen Raptor with bed caged suspension and driveline modifications will destroy anything else on the road.
+ i couldnt find a new one for less then 80K

I had a 2013 raptor without the roush and then got a pW the PW performed great for me and no rattles and for a big differance in price is the way to go. I put air bags on the rear and kept about 10 lbs in it. Levelled the bumps out great
If I had to choose again I would probably stick with the PW
In the mean time I sold my 2018 PW and now have a 2019 2500 Laramie sport. And absolutely love it with a 6.4 gas same as my PW
Reason for getting rid of my PW can’t tow anything

Put a Thuren suspension on it and that will soften the ride but make the handling better.

But he will lose his capacity. Thuren is softer than oem PW springs. But then he can put bags and have both.... but can do that in a PW too lol. Funny that stupid door sticker says what it says

Wow! A 1,165 payload capacity in the fully loaded 2019 PW per the test truck review in the link below. That's just a 1/2 ton when a driver is included. Strange that shaving 100 lbs off the frame weight from the previous year's fully loaded PW test truck didn't help improve it's overall weight. The 2019 actually gained more weight.

Seen recently a red 2019 PW selling in Colorado Springs for a bit under $50K. Three new PW's on the lot. Not very rare around here.

This is why I want to put stock 2500 springs or aftermarket springs on mine. I dont think I'll lose that much rear end flex. Personally I think front end flex matters more for articulation. Thoughts?

I agree mostly. My lsd works amazing on my 2500. So even with one rear tire off the ground it still works. Biggest thing for me “no front locker” is keeping front tires in contact with surface. The stock springs are stiff though. It’ll be rough off-road for sure. This all depends on how much you wheel and how you wheel. So many variables

Without weight in the bed, ita typically a "rough" ride reguardless I'd think. But since I'm used to the super stiff suspensions from the vehicles in the Army, I'm not too worried. Plus I dont plan on doing baja type speed unless I'm in the desert and even then you have to watch out for waddies. Cant tell you the number of times inexperienced soldiers would flip a vehicle because they figured a tall ass truck with tires about as big as you are tall could fly over anything.

It doesn’t matter the reason one wants a PW. As I don’t think the OP is here to be talked out of one but to test the waters of his soon to be new “club”.
Welcome to the Club!! Buy one with every option checked. No regrets.
Some PW are Pavement Queens and are available for duty just like a concealed piece.
Some are for hunting season, ski season, or beach days and you want luxury when doing it.
Some are bought for pure off roading hobbies and will only come out to play on those days.

check out my thread to the Smoky mountains

also gear up. The truck rides better carrying 500lbs. All HD trucks do! This one is not Different. put 35s on it as soon as you can and enjoy :happy160:

No fully loaded PW is going for less then 60k the truck you saw is missing all the goodies for that price. @McBroom knows this as he has been looking.

...I’m sure I opened a can of worms. Everyone is going to PM me PW’s for sell. If you find one, don’t tell me as I barely convinced my wife I actually got a good deal!
