Well it looks like there may be a path for all the people that don't have anything to hold onto since Ram went with a knob shifter in the trucks. Sounds like there will be a G/T package coming in 2022 model year that will feature a console shifter and steering wheel paddles like those found in the TRX

I don't like either. I want a big piece of metal on the floor where I can pick my gear ;). I bought a 2020 tradesman for 15,500 with the dial shifter, doesn't bother me one bit. Never seen the big problem with it.

I'm fine with the knob shifter. You can always grab the steering wheel if you need to hold onto something. :driver:

The Knob is just fine. The only time you really need to look at is when shifting into reverse. It frees up storage space that the new shifter will take. The floor shifter doesn't handle all of the up and downshifts if you want something other than D. It gets a paddle shifter, the Knob has steering wheel buttons. The floor shifter has no advantage there either.
I saw a story that GM may be dropping the column shifter finally in '22. It is long overdue.
