Just bought a pro-owned 2020 Dodge Ram 3500 Aisin with 78,000 miles from a Prestige Dodge dealership. Drove great the first month I bought it until I got it out on the road hauling a 34' fifth wheel ~12,000 lbs. Coded 4/22 in Tucson with P2002 (Particulate trap bank 1). Guys at dealership said I wasn't driving it hard enough, although I'm towing cross country. Knew it sounded like BS but paid the $175 for regen blowout.

May 16th threw a second code P0420 (Catalytic converter system, bank 1) followed by P2281 (Air leak between MAF sensor and throttle body). Went to dealership and was told that there was a hole in the inner cooler. They replaced on May 22. Also paid out of pocket for regen blowout and parts.

May 29 threw code P2459 (diesel particulate filter). Took it in and the guys said they took it apart, can't find the issue. The mechanic drove it 15 minutes and code didn't come back on so they said drive it.

Picked up truck May 31 and on June 1st began to tow home. 49 miles in threw code P2281 (Air leak again). Took to dealership on Monday 6/3 and they found a missing bolt under heater grid. They said they should have caught sooner but explains all other issues.

Drove around all week to make sure it was good. No issues driving. Hooked up this morning, got 150 miles before threw code P2281 (Air leak) and P2509 (Engine control module). It's saying there's issues with the inner cooler, catalytic converter, misfiring in all cylinders, issues with cruise control. It's like the truck blew up.

Meanwhile, we've been stuck in New Mexico for over a month and cannot return to our home state of Nevada. I can't get anyone at Dodge/ Ram/ Chrysler to even talk to me. I'm sure we're approaching Lemon Law status and I'm at a point now where I can't trust this truck and I'm not confident they can fix it.

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know anything about buybacks? Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I see a lawyer.

Knock on wood we've not had any catastrophes with our 20 ram 3500 w/aisin, so all can say is if we're mine I'd be showing up at the dealership handing them the keys and demanding they take it back with a full refund and if they give you any then say ill bring my lawyer in tomorrow if I'm forced too but don't wanna. Definitely would not be leaving the stealership with that truck with me that's for sure.

I'm not sure LL's would apply to a 2nd owner truck with those miles on it, but I sure wouldn't mention that or lawyers to the servicing dealer. Might not get the results you're looking for.

Anyway, sorry to hear about the issues. Very frustrating, I'm sure.

You are pretty close to out of warranty. I'd be finding an actual diesel mechanic, not the Ram dealer, and having them take a look at it.
