OK... So before y'all jump all over me with the stock answers and solutions, I've been down that road unless there's something I've missed.
Did an engine swap back in Sept of '22. Truck is still running great. Changed the Tstat to a 185 degree F. during the swap. The tune was changed to accommodate the new Tstat. Truck warms up to that and when driving operates at 185 or slightly below at times.
I'm still running the Mechanical fan as well as the electric fan. Fan clutch was changed when the swap was done. Water pump is newish as well.
My only issue with the coolant temp is that at idle it starts to climb slightly...worse(higher and quicker) if I'm sitting in rush hour traffic.
If I put it in neutral and rev the engine a bit I can see the temp start to come down and once I start moving the temp goes back to the 185 range. I never noticed this before as my original engine ran in the 210 to 220 range.
The reason This is being brought up I want to delete my Mechanical fan, but if the electric fan cannot keep up it would not be helpful to remove the mech fan.
Is anybody else having this issue
