Hello,
Am considering an upgrade to stock exhaust on 23 1500 5.7. I don't have the MDS disabled.

I'd like to keep it on the quite side especially morning startup, quite in the cabin with no drone when cruising on the highway, but when you press the pedal even at low Rpm, my wife really likes the sound, as she drives aggressive.

I am looking at Borla Touring, which may be too tame for her, so I heard various exhausts from Borla, Magna, Flowmaster, aFe, Corsa, etc.

What I think will work is the Corsa Performance or Corsa Sport.

Of these I like Corsa Sport first, but both give you that muscle car sound.

Any thoughts on difference between Corsa Sport and Performance?

Stock truck.

Thanks.

I have the Corsa Sport cat-back (black powder coat tips) on my ‘21 5.7 Rebel. Yes a little bark on cold starts like most exhausts then quiets down. Quiet in the cab. No drone and can’t tell when mds kicks in, which makes long trips pulling my boat or wheelers more enjoyable. IMO a nice growl when you’re accelerating but not obnoxious. I have a review on Corsa’s website (part #21035
Dec 20, 2020). It’s a pricey exhaust but I put it on after about 3 weeks after buying the truck along with the RAMairflow intake. (part number 77072428AF). I’d recommend the Corsa Sport. Also the sounds clips are pretty close to spot on that I have heard. Of course everyone’s taste are different….

I went with a custom y-pipe fabbed up, a Magnaflow cat back with their 14" performance muffler and a pair of 5" black tips.

Sounds excellent at WOT. Nice and deep tones when driving and tame when just driving around.

Thanks for the input. I'm also considering Longtube headers, so I don't know if I will need a resonator to go along with the Corsa Sport since I think adding headers will increase the sound?

If you're going long tubes, I'd have a full 3" custom exhaust made by an experienced performance exhaust shop to produce a system that includes high flow cats (or not, if you don't require them) an x-pipe and a pair of nice Magnaflow (or whatever you choose) performance mufflers with the reso delete and a pair of 5" tips if you've got a dual out rear bumper.

I would do headers first, for 2 reasons, first off, it sounds like you are mostly after sound, and headers do change that

Secondly, it will be the one part of the exhaust that gives the most actual performance rewards

And last but not least, chances are your manifolds will develop a leak sooner later, so you may need to change those out anyway
