I'm wondering what people are paying for an oil and filter change at the dealership? My truck is due for its first oil change and the dealership I bought it at gives a lifetime power train warranty as long as you have them do the oil changes. I'm hoping it's less than $50 but wouldn't be shocked that with tire rotation it's like $75. Let me know what you've paid in the past...I'd like to know what to expect or how bad this place screws me.

The 5.7 requires 7 quarts of oil. Does your dealer run any oil change specials, coupons (maybe a Google search), etc. Most often the specials only include 5 quarts, then you get up-charged for the remaining 2.

Is the dealership "lifetime warranty" just the oil changes? Most I have seen require every scheduled service be done at the dealership, not just the oil change. They usually have enough "outs" to not honor their warranty when push comes to shove and are just designed to make money off the servicing.

I've found every dealership (at least in my area) is different. Mine was going to be around $119 for the 6.4 Hemi but they sold me on a 6-pack of changes for $395. So, basically, about $66 each.

Go to Discount Tire for tire rotations - it is about $60 for lifetime rotations.

Scheduled service, but that's basically oil changes and tire rotations for the next 40k miles. I doubt I'll still own the truck when it gets to the other stuff I just saw in the service log.

Where are you located? I was taking it to one dealership who was charging me for eight quarts when seven is needed. The dealership I take it now just did a synthetic oil change for $69.99. I'll keep taking it to this dealer.

Indiana...dealership I bought it at is 30 minutes from my house. I was hoping I could have the service stuff done at any dealership since I have one 5 minutes from me, but not an option since the place I bought it wants that $$$ haha.

Well I just got 3 oil changes and tire rotations for $100...with all 7 quarts being included. While I'm sure it's not synthetic...it was kinda a no brainer since it was going to be $70 for just one change and rotation.

It turns out the $100 for 3 oil changes and tire rotations does include synthetic oil after all. So I feel like I definitely got a good deal.

Not sure, they wouldn't use oil I brought them so I didn't bother with them.... Plus the shop near my office gives me a 15% discount since I'm a Firefighter.... I didn't ask for it but I'll take it, and give them my business.

I buy my Mobil 1 5W-30 at Walmart and use either Mann or Hastings filters from Rock Auto, and my dealer charges me $17.00 to change oil and filter (Discount Tire does the rotation and balance free). I got a book of $800.00 worth of $25.00 service tickets (**** tickets) with the purchase of my truck, so I just give them 1 $25.00 **** ticket and they can keep the change.....works for me (oh, I also have the lifetime powertrain warranty and they want documentation).

$15 for mine, special pricing for buying the truck there. That and the 8k intervals is a lot better than changing it in my wrangler every 3 weeks or so at $35 a piece

I bought my 2016 this past March.
I recall the dealer telling me that the first oil change is free and would be honored at any Ram dealer.
Did you guys not get this free oil change?

I believe our dealers send out $25 coupons regularly. Anyone else see the "3 pack of coupons"
