Crappy air bag repair by dealership

Earlier this year I got an air bag light.
$100 later, fixed on warranty.

Went to take driver seat out to install an amp and clean up some wiring.

Well they just cut 2 wires at the yellow connector and butt spliced them. Now I can't take my seat out.

I'm now at the dealer. I am told that this is common and it's ram's suggested fix.

Called some number and they can't help.

Such an important thing there has to be a better fix.

You can take the butt connectors off and use spade connectors so you can remove the seat as needed.

I agree about the connectors but
1. Ram should fix it.
2. I don't want them blaming me if anything goes wrong.

Id be interested to know if the part they replaced came with pins on the end of the wires and instead of taking the 10 extra minutes to re-pin the connector, they just cut the factory pinned ends off the new part and butt-connected them to leads cut out of the yellow plug.

What was the $100 for?
There's never a charge for a Recall.

They can get a whole new connector if thats the case!

Wasn't a recall. It was under my extended warranty.

They claim ram is not shipping backshells, the problem will just come back.

Again calling Mopar ram cares got me nowhere.
I wish there was someone I could call.

The tech was able to install an OEM 2 pin connector.

Looks good.

They got me out before lunch.
